Today, I'm in front of UA, wearing a grey uniform with a red tie preparing to enter the school. I still have my trusty old eye masks for when things get boring and my brand-new jacket that was given by Miu. It's fun to see her reactions when I try to act oblivious but I need to answer her soon. Though I still need to defeat grandpa Furinji before he permits anything or I would be in a hell of a lot of trouble.
Getting the letter for passing was very anti-climatic especially if the one talking in the letter is almost living at your house. All Might and Midoriya stayed at Ryozanpaku until the first day of school. That was the deal they made with Akisame-san and grandpa Furinji.
I used my time before the first day to master different weapons with Shigure-nee. I don't know why but I feel a great affinity with weapons every since I got my memories back. Swords, spears, bows, even shields, and surprisingly guns. I had fun sparing with Shigure-nee only using weapons without the use of other martial arts. Grandpa and the others were flabbergasted when my first sparing with Shigure-nee ended up with a tie. All of them almost bet that she would kick my ass when using weapons but that made grandpa Jin take a sizable amount of pocket money from them.
Anyway, today I got to UA quite early since I made a bento for Miu and I. I stood in front of the door of classroom 1-A which I got assigned to.
'This is one huge door' I thought to myself as I size the whole thing before sliding the door to the side. I saw no one was in yet so I decided to just sit in the furthest back seat beside the window. I waited for a few minutes but seeing as no one was entering the room I just decided to doze off for a bit.
I woke up from the sound of two people fighting, shouting at each other. When I removed my eyes masks, I saw a blonde hair kid sitting on the chair while his feat was on the table, while the other person that was shouting was a black-haired boy with glasses that has an aura surrounding him shouting SERIOUS. I recognize the two as Bakugou and Tenya. They were bickering because Tenya wanted Bakugou to put his foot down. They continued for a while before the door slid open.
Due to the sudden opening of the door, while there's a commotion inside, all the people in the class shifted their focus to the one that opened it. Midoriya was shaken by all the attention he got suddenly before getting embarrassed. Though he's not the same lame boy in the anime, his old attitude still remains. Iida approached Midoriya which I decided to ignore and looked around the class. As I was observing everyone, I saw a floating uniform waving in my direction. It was Toru-san, she was about to approach me when suddenly a sleeping bag suddenly stood in front of the door.
"It took you eight seconds to quiet down," said the zombie looking man with the eye bags of a person who hasn't slept for a week
"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Pleased to meet you"
Everyone looked surprised when Aizawa-sensei introduced himself. He then got out of the sleeping bag before pulling a gym uniform and telling us to head to the grounds
Inside the changing room, everyone changed into their gym clothes. Some of the guys were talking to each other but I spotted Bakugou leering in my direction. He was staring directly at him while gnashing his teeth. I ignored him and quickly headed outside.
Once everyone was gathered, Aizawa-sensei started explaining what was happening.
"A quirk assessment test?" everyone shouted at the same time as they practiced for it.
"What about the entrance ceremony? The orientation" questioned the girl with the shoulder-length brown hair with large round eyes.
"No time to waste on that stuff if you want to become heroes" Aizawa-sensei answered without even looking at the girl he most were shocked by his response but he continued
"U.A.'s selling point is how unrestricted school traditions are. That's also how teachers run their classes. You kids have been doing these all in the middle-school yes?" He then showed us a list of physical fitness test
He continued ranting about something related to the country I think? Honestly, I stopped paying attention after he showed his list that was until Tenya shook me from my daze since Aizawa-sensei was calling me.
"Mori, is Mori here?" I could hear Aizawa-sensei calling me
I raised my hands and approached him slowly.
"Next time pay attention to others. I know you're already stronger than most heroes but you are here to learn how to be a PROPER HERO" he reprimanded me as he emphasizes his last words.
Most of my classmates let out a gasp of shock when they heard his words. They couldn't believe a boy their age was already on the level of pro heroes. Only Midoriya was nodding his head with understanding.
"How far can you throw a softball in junior high school?" Aizawa-sensei asked
"I don't know, I always skip out on gym" I answered nonchalantly which made him frown.
"Well, now we can know the result when you use your Quirk. Do whatever just don't leave the circle." He pointed at the circle in front of him. He tossed me a softball then signaled me to start.
"Are you sure you want me to use my Quirk sensei?" I asked him once again to confirm. He gave an intrigued look but then nodded
I activated my 'Quirk'. Everyone let out a gasp seeing the sudden change in my form. I activate Yongpyo to make it look like that was my standard form. They don't need to know that most of my 'Quirk' are just summoned items. I rotated my arms and let go of the ball. I didn't want to cause too much of a commotion so I didn't use all my strength. The ball went far until people can't see it in the horizon.
"It's important for us to know our limits. That's the first rational step to figuring out what kind of hero you'll be" He then pointed towards the measuring device in his hands. It shows how far the ball was thrown. 9000+ was the result displayed in the device.
(AN: Just a little meme lol. Though I computed how far Mori can throw the softball and it's over 100million meters… The strength is based on battle wiki and some calculations though I'm not really sure if this is correct.)
"It's over 9000 seriously?"
"Holy shit how was that possible!"
"Why is it not an exact number?"
"So, we can use our Quirks? Awesome!"
As everyone was still marveling at the results Aizawa-sensei interjected
"Awesome, you say? You're hoping to become heroes after 3 years here and you all think this all fun and games? I think I forgot to mention. The one with the lowest score across all events would be expelled."
"WHAAT!" Everyone shouted, shocked by his words. Some were excited, some were nervous, but I'm just here praying no one would be hit by the ball I just threw.
----------------
Inside a forest somewhere. A woman with bunny ears was relaxing in her home enjoying her day off when suddenly a ball fell down on her house almost destroying her roof. She became alert thinking she was getting attacked by villains so she quickly sprang up and run outside the house. She waited for a few minutes for an attack to happen but there was nothing. She got back to her house looking for the object that fell.
'A ball?' when she saw the object she was surprised, thought just within a few seconds her surprise was suddenly changed by anger
"Don't make me find you whoever threw this ball at me! I'll make you pay!" She shouted as she crushed the ball in her hands in her anger.
---------------
(Back to the Apprehension Test)
Some complained but Aizawa-sensei just gave them a little speech about how heroes are the ones who correct the unfairness of the world.
"Use all your strength to overcome everything. Bring it. That's Plus Ultra" There are more students that became nervous but I just ignored it. I was about to approach Toru-san but seeing her all focused made me think otherwise.
[Event 1: 50-meter dash]
I was paired up with Ida Tenya with his Quirk: Engine. He prepared himself before the signal was called. I called Kinto'un and just rode it since I was also curious how fast it could go.
*Beep* The signal to start rang from the robot monitoring the tests. Iida quickly started to run he was focused on running that he didn't see a blur pass him right from the start and only saw me on the finish line laying on top of Kinto'un. The robot announced the time as soon as Tenya passed the finish line.
{Jin Mori: 1.27 seconds}
{Ida Tenya: 3.53}
The crowd erupted once again.
"Damn, that's like a cheat!" Kaminari Denki said
"I thought Ida would be the fastest out of all of us considering his quirk," Momo Yaoyorozu said from the side
Meanwhile, seeing the results, Bakugou just continued to gnash his teeth as he clicks his tongue in annoyance. On the other hand, one boy was silently observing at the side not saying anything.
[Event 2: Grip Strength]
We were handed a device that measures the grip strength. When it was my turn, I decided to let others go first since there was only a limited device. Aizawa-sensei only stared at me for a second before letting the others use it first. When it was my turn, I didn't limit myself like earlier, and as expected the device broke. Seeing the broken device Aizawa-sensei just wrote something in his notes before proceeding
[Event 3: Standing Long Jump]
Here, I used Yeoui to carry me from the start to the end of the pit. This was a quirk apprehension test, might as well show them my different 'Quirks'.
[Event 4: Repeated side steps]
This one was the most normal one considering I didn't use any martial arts footwork. Well, normal on superhuman levels.
[Event 5: Ball Throw]
Since I was already done with this, I just sat on the sidelines to see how everyone would do. It was then that Toru approached me.
"Mori-san! How are you"
"Sleepy" I answered as I was slowly dozing off.
"You're always sleepy ha ha" she laughed beside me while slapping my shoulders. Although she's laughing, I could feel that she was shaking at her place right now.
"You okay?" I turned to ask her. She flinched on my question but sighed as she answers
"I-I'm scared, seeing the results of everyone I feel like I'm going to be dead last" her voice was shaking as she said those words. Seeing her reaction, I decided to comfort her for now. I don't know what would happen since it was impossible for Midoriya to place last now. She doesn't have plot armor, then again this isn't an anime anymore
"Don't worry! I'm sure you'll do fine! Just make sure to show how determined you are to Aizawa-sensei" I said as I try to calm her down by gently rubbing her back
"You're right! I'm sure I'll do fine! Thanks, Mori-san" Just after a few seconds, she immediately bounced back to her normal bubbly self. She ran towards the test area since Aizawa-sensei called for her
-------------------
"Since everyone is done, it's time for the results. Also, can someone wake Mori up"
"I'm up, I'm up" I shouted still dizzy from being woken up
"Your total scores reflect your performances for each event. Explaining everything would be a waste of time. I'll just show you the final rankings. Also, I was lying about expelling someone. That was a rational deception to bring out the best in all of you" He said smiling, he looked in the direction of Toru before turning around to leave.
I approached Toru and tapped her on the shoulders, only for her to almost fall to the ground. Luckily, I manage to catch her in time.
"Whoa! What happened?" I asked, our classmates all glared at me. They thought I did something to Toru before she started crying. I panicked since it looked like I was the one that made her cry. Momo was about to reprimand me before Toru decided to hug me.
"Waaa, I really thought I was going to get expelled. I was so nervous *sniff*" Toru shouted as she continued to cry
"Didn't I tell you you'd be fine? See, nothing to worry about" I tried to calm her down since it doesn't look like she will stop anytime soon.
"*sniff* you're right. Sorry for doubting you Mori-san *sniff*. I'm okay now." She said as she tries to let go only to lose her balance and almost fell again.
"he he, sorry. I can't feel my legs" she added sheepishly
"it's fine, I'll bring you to the infirmary so you can rest" I then lifted her legs to a princess carry before walking towards the infirmary.
"Mori-san, wait!" Midoriya shouted
"Hmm?" I turned to hear what he was about to say
"The infirmary's in the other building" He pointed towards the building I was moving the opposite to.
(AN: Thanks to everyone supporting the book! Especially seeing the power stones that were dropped as soon as the reset started that was flattering! Today's chapter is a bit late than usual sorry about that.
Let me know in the comments how you think about the chapter or how you want to see the progress also dropping power stones helps a lot since the book would be seen by a lot more people)
