Waving off Ian's comment Gloria stood behind her son who dawned a look that hid none of his frustration. Luke laughed at the two finding the situation amusing whilst I took the opportunity of their momentary distraction and hit the white pin-pong ball.
I watched it bounce on their side of the table and finally off with Ian missing it by an inch. The boy then slowly turned to his mother with a small glare and Gloria covered her mouth with both hands as if saying oops.
