A Friend Back
Chloe was waiting at the front steps of her friend Ashley's door. Chloe always carried her bright face along with her black straight hair and brown eyes. As she was looking at her brown old watch the big brick house of Ashley's looked like it loomed over her. After a couple of minutes, her other friend Annabelle came. Annabelle had brown hair with green eyes.
"Thank you, Annabelle! You're finally here," said Chloe sarcastically.
"Sorry," said Annabelle, rolling her eyes.
"Well, you're late by 10 minutes and we need to get going," said Chloe, raising an eyebrow.
Chloe knocked on Ashley's door
"I can't believe Ashley's coming back to live with us though... she doesn't seem like that kind of person," Annabelle whispered as they could hear shouting.
"Honey get the door!" A female voice shouted.
"Mom! Ashley broke my lego castle!" A boy shouted.
"Did not! You jumped on me, you idiot!" They could hear another voice shout.
"Ashley! Are you listening! Get the door!" Her mother as Chloe assumed, shouted.
Chloe could see Ashley march down as she opened the door. Chloe smiled; she missed the curly blond hair, ice-blue eyes, and the "I'm joking" face Ashley had.
"Hi, guys! It's nice to see you again! I was planning to take a walk, do you want to join me?" said Ashley excitedly.
"Sure," said Annabelle as they started to walk.
"Ashley, why did you come back here? I mean you kept on sending us pictures making us jealous," said Chloe with a smirk on her face.
Ashley giggled. "Really? Well, it was boring. Well, in my opinion... I mean, there's nothing to look forward to. All I could say during the summer was 'yippee my dog just peed in the backyard' or 'wow a fly just went by my house.' That time was when I really, and I mean really, liked school," said Ashley with a hint of her smirk.
"Wow. I always wanted to live in a Rubin Place, but now that's not helping my motivation," said Annabelle with a sly smile.
"Well, you would like it. Rubin places are your type I should say? I just don't like too silent places," said Ashley.
"Definitely somewhere I want to be but not at the same time," said Chloe, laughing.
After a long time of walking and talking, they decided to go back to Ashley's house.
"I have snacks in the kitchen? Want some?" suggested Ashley.
"I guess," said Chloe as everyone entered the room, but, while walking, the floors shook and they fell.
"What was that?" asked Ashley, patting herself. "It never happened when I was here,"
"I-I- don't know... It's never happened before," answered Chloe in shock.
"Yeah. It's like Mary Poppins," answered Annabelle, snickering. "Should we check outside?"
"I guess," said Ashley, shaking from shock.
"Ummm... Should we tell our parents?" asked Chloe.
"How about both?" suggested Annabelle.
Everyone nodded in agreement and they went outside.
"Um... Don't the buildings seem different and quiet?" asked Ashley, hoping everybody was still next to her. The brick buildings were now humongous white, modern buildings. The houses looked as if only Royalty could live there.
"Did we…. Teleport?" asked Annabelle curiously.
"Of course not, that's impossible... If people could teleport they already would've been teleporting
"Let's go inside. I'm freaked out," said Chloe, and they went to Ashley's house again, but the door was locked. Everybody turned and looked at each other.
"Mom! Dad! Let me in!" Ashley shouted as she banged on the door.
After quite some time, the door slowly creaked open.
