The Kaigansan Attacked Me

"Lord Ellis! I'm very sure you're here!" The noblewoman then wept dramatically as she held onto her chest and cried. "Why?! Why must you run away from your one true love?!"

"Say what?"

The angel stared at the woman walking around her room as if it was not a private space. The newcomer was in a baby blue dress with her chest puffing out from the design of the bodice. Her deep cleavage was being paraded, but her bosom was awfully big that it didn't look natural. She wasn't chubby either so her body looked very disproportionate to Artie; well, that was one of the things she would say to avoid being envious.

When the newcomer reached out to the knob of her ensuite bathroom, Artie shot to her feet and went to stand before her and the bathroom. Artie then flashed a smile at the woman. "Well, hello. Can I help you? I can't just have anyone rummaging my stuff without permission now, can I?"

"Hm?" The face of the woman changed into a disgusted one when her purple eyes landed on Artie's face. "What could a maid like you help me with? Are you going to serve me with tea?" She moved her hand and tried to shove Artie out of the way. However, her words were caught in her throat when Artie grabbed her wrist. New ones flowed from her hissing: "How dare you touch me? Do you not know who I am?"

[Lady Gustova Miral! Age: 34 years; Race: Human; Place of Origin: Miral Valley (Galacia); Affiliation/s: Wusso Miral (brother)… (more)]

[The sister of the archduke's long-time friend, second lady of Miral Valley. Gustova had been infatuated with the archduke from a very young age, and her obsessions had come to a point of delusion. Admired to death by most of the dukes and lords of the kingdom, Gustova was confident that no one could resist her allure, be it the infamous archduke who had been abstaining from women for a long time.]

"Well, Second Lady Miral, I do dare to touch you for you… are infringing on my space." Artie glared at the disgusted woman. "Now, if you could only leave my room—"

"Preposterous! Why would I care if I destroy a maid's room?!" Gustova slipped her hand off of Artie's hold and swung it towards the angel's face. However, Artie grabbed the wrist of the slapping hand and also her back. She swung the second lady around and twisted her arm behind her, making her scream in pain. However, Artie shoved her to the ground with a throw. "Y-You…!"

The archduchess glared coldly at her. "I really don't like people like you. Make yourself decent before I call the guards on you. If you cannot find Larkin, then you must at least take a good look at yourself. Stop chasing him like a madwoman. Most importantly, get out of my room."

"How dare you call him by his name?! You pretentious self-important maid! He will have your head for this!"

The madwoman got up and proceeded to attack Artie. She screamed hysterically as she went for Artie's hair, but the angel liked her snood so much. If it got destroyed, she would be pissed. Artie evaded the first lunge and grabbed her skirt to keep it from tripping her in the future. As the angel ran to a safe distance, she activated her Authority Conquest and blasted a Psychic attack at the madwoman.

Gustova screamed again as she felt like her head was starting to split. She then fell on the ground and tried so hard to get up. However, Artie only huffed in response. "Stop trying to attack me! You will only suffer!"

"Lady Shen!" Miel and some soldiers came as if they had just heard the commotion. The seneschal found the second lady on the floor before turning to Artie who looked like she had been through rough movements. "Are you alright, Lady Shen? Has she scratched you anywhere?"

"No, I might be the one injuring her lightly." Artie only sighed as she noticed Miel's protective stance. "I'm okay. Why would she be looking for Larkin here? Did he run this way?"

Miel had no answer for her so he could only give her a glance. He was more concerned about the fact that Gustova had attacked the archduchess. It would be negligible if the second lady didn't cause Artie any harm, but if a single strand of her hair was pulled out, Gustova might have to face consequences. Then again, would it still be proper to punish her now that she was writhing on the floor?

The guards could only pick her up slowly as she was prone to flail and resent them for touching her. When she decided to do just that, Artie fired another Psychic attack, her eyes lighting up in bright white. She was supposed to keep these things a secret, but she didn't want her guards to be harmed by this madwoman. Besides, she could always say that she was elven by blood so she could wield magic of some sort.

"Please bring her to the waiting room and don't let her leave." Artie huffed as she succeeded in knocking the woman out cold. She consulted with the system if there would be long-term effects if hit by the Psychic attack, but her Reverence was too low to do more than knocking this lady out. She then feigned weakness so she wouldn't look scary to the guards. "Please make sure she won't cause trouble again."

"Lady Shen..." The guards only whispered her name as Miel was the one who caught her. The guards then took Gustova away before Artie straightened her back and sighed in resignation. Miel cleared his throat. "Lady Shen, please refrain from showing your abilities to the guards."

"I would if no one attacks me in my room." Artie hummed as she turned to the seneschal. "Why would she be here? And why did she look for Larkin in my room?"

"Truthfully… I have no idea, Lady Shen. Perhaps she was feigning her reason and would rather meet you instead." Miel then looked around and began organizing the things that had fallen from the commotion. "Please rest for a while, Lady Shen. I shall accompany you to the waiting room after I finish with this."

Artie only sat down at the edge of the bed and watched Miel. She ended up asking about the time and realized that she had been sleeping for three hours. Dinner was supposed to be served by then… but the guests from Miral Valley had come earlier than normal. It seemed that they were all excited to see how the wedding would go… or that they needed enough time to make Larkin reconsider.

"Brother!" Gustova called out from outside the waiting room as she grew grouchy. She was dragged here like she was not of noble origins. Even if she didn't have demon blood that would resonate with the demon veins underneath Miral Valley, she was still the sister of the duke.

"Brother, that Kaigansan whore attacked me!" Gustova roared in anger, not noticing that Larkin was there with Clarissa and Marissa.

Larkin then glared in her direction. "Who attacked you again?"
