A Foreboding Feeling

Miel hurriedly closed the door after the maid had received orders. He then stripped off the robe and went through his wardrobe. "Lord Ellis is already in the premises of the archduchy. Can you imagine? It's a long while since he had been here." He slipped on the trousers, leaving them unbuttoned, and the socks before clumsily pulling out the inner shirt and wearing it overhead. "Get dressed. We must not be late."

The woman didn't even bother putting on her outer dress as she walked to Miel. She stood next to him and tapped his shoulder, soon attending to tucking his shirt and buttoning the trousers while he worked with the cuff links in his sleeves.

"Aren't you sad? You've stood as the archduke, both in power and influence, in this month while Lord Ellis is gone. Shouldn't you feel regretful at least? You liked the respect and privilege given to you by the lords." The woman made sure she did things correctly before helping him with his coat and his hair.
