What a Brave Crew

Artie couldn't help but laugh, but the laugh that came out of her was not her usual tone. It was more likely how Larkin would remember her laughter. At these simple things, Artie's heart continued to get pricked. Not only out of jealousy, but also out of second-hand pain that Larkin must have felt when things grew worse.

"Miel, why do you frown?" Artie walked closer. The game stopped, and the toddler looked up at his mother. Perhaps because Sarafina wasn't hands-on with him, Miel didn't feel much affection when seeing her. Artie could see it in the look of the child's eye. He was even frightened of her despite his mommy being such an undeniable beauty. What a shame…

"He doesn't see it as a game for I jump higher. Would you like to try it? The rope is long enough for an adult." Larkin offered, and Artie felt like she wanted to punch Sarafina all of a sudden. How dare she—! Argh!
