The Reality(2)

Chapter 4: The Reality (2)

I had cared for only one person in the world, and that was my twin. I wasn't heartless and certainly not numb to worldly feelings, but I would put her first in all. Not only had she been my priority in all due to her extreme weakness but also my parents wish.

But here I was, just as the realization hit, running to save someone I just met, one I didn't know her name. We weren't far apart, but a rush came over me, at least, to save her.

A nanosecond was all it took for the scenery to change, flashes of light at a high rate than occurred.

I remembered the first time I got into trouble.

A microsecond swan and I had leapt up with a small shout as my default act.

I recalled my first fight with my older siblings.

A millisecond passed, and my hand was then fully stretched out, narrowly missing her shoulder and grabbing the hem of her shirt.

I saw my first bullying experience.

A second into it, I pulled the hardest I could muster.

And I was back to reality as I hit the ground.

"Damn it", I muttered as I tried to gather my thoughts. I had hit my head so hard that it gave me a migraine, not new but still hard to relieve.

The pale boy walked passed me towards the door we came through, seconds later the girl I was sure was on the floor with me did the same. Following closely, was a boy slightly taller than the rest with dark and light patches on his skin just like mine. He slightly tilted his head to look at me as his face morphed into a chiselled one like mine, and with small black eyes, he completed the look. Someone was going to live my life, and it dawned on me, we were dead meat. Something was going on behind the scenes, and by the looks of it, we were doomed.

Sooner than I thought, I was being hit, and this time I fainted.

The Mixed clan had always been very small on my planet, as hardly did anyone wants something they didn't understand. We are highly sought out anyways because we were said to be unstable and had something under our sleeves as our powers increased with time and we attained a lot of new ones too.

I was not exempted, and the fact that I had a twin made us extremely different somehow as it was one thing that enhanced us. They were scarce to the extent that if you see one in your lifetime, it was considered a blessing. We never really got the meaning as children, but as we easily conversed between ourselves and developed a bond between ourselves, we became to know our difference from others.

While my other siblings tended to have more physical abilities like strength, my twin and I had more on the mental side like telekinesis. We also got more with time, as with our mixed factors we can take powers from either side we had in us.

Even with all that, we didn't still see the need for all the fuss, which was because many beings believed we were a disruption in society. Blame love for disrupting society.

I remembered my family occasions, both good and bad. I also remember my games and pranks with close relatives. I remember the few friends we made on our planet and the several fights we had. I also remember the day we departed our dear planet.

I had a great memory, that I knew, as I recalled all past events in details. It was cool but made me wonder why.

Why exactly at this time?

I never reminisce on everything, just one thought at a time.

My inquisitiveness and curiosity were my best traits, as though I never acted without thinking it all through. I always had a strategy for all possible outcomes, basic mind play.

My thoughts were running at an alarming speed, one I couldn't decipher, but knew it wasn't in my control. It almost seemed like I was reliving my life in a rush.

Some scenes were also being deleted as time went by.

How did I know?

Basic mental knowledge.

My consciousness was heightened at this point, and I knew what was happening. I needed to have full control which was far from my grasp.

My eyelids opened a bit, and the young girl was in front of me. I didn't know for sure, but I saw some of her facial features. She seemed to have given in to everything and was lost already.

The pale boy stood near her but faced my direction with a frown, he sighed from time to time and began to walk around in circles.

I woke up finding myself in my sleeping bag just as the Captain announced our arrival.

We were landing, and I had a lead on something undefined.
