May stretched out with a groan as she woke up. She opened her eyes to take in her surroundings. Grey walls, grey curtains , silk sheets... Daniel's room.
She got up so fast, Her feet tangles with the sheets and she fell on the floor, face first. Groaning, she rubbed her chin as she got up.
She straightened quickly , brushing dirt off of her dress when she heard the door open.
She turned and came face to face with Daniel.
"I don't know how I got here. I swear. I just woke up and found myself here. I didn't come here on my own " she rambled on.
"I know. I brought you here "he said simply.
"Brought me here? Why... when. "she asked.
"Don't you remember? "He asked.
"No, what happened"
"You had a panic attack "
"What? I haven't had those in a while. What caused it? "she asked her eyebrows furrowed.
"I did" Daniel admitted.
"You? What could you possibly do that would cause me to have a panic attack?"
"I called you ugly" he said .
"Oh" she managed out.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean it. I was just angry. "
"It's... umh...its o-okay " she stuttered.
"I know it was wrong. I really didn't mean a word I said. Please forgive me"
"He used to call me that" she said her Voice distant as if she was relieving a memory.
"He would remind me how ugly I was every night before he beat me up. He never missed a chance to remind me that no one would ever want me.
He always told me that the only reason why he didn't sleep with me after he took me as his wife was because I was so ugly he couldn't even touch me that way. " She blinked back tears that were clouding her eyes before walking out the door .
Daniel stared at the spot where May had been standing for nearly ten minutes.
Had he really misunderstood her? He asked himself.
He had nothing against her, if anything he liked her. He had started experiencing certain feelings for her. And that itself scared him.
He had never had feelings for anyone other than his ex girlfriend, Charlotte. He had loved her so much. So much he gave her all she asked for.
He bought her a car on her birthday, bought her a new house on Christmas as a present. Took her on a vacation wherever she had wished.
But none of that was enough. He had been so heartbroken when he had caught her in bed with his best friend.
She wanted more, and apparently she didn't think he would give it to her. She had told him
The fact that she had no trust in him hurt him deeply. Heavens know he would have gotten the moon for her if she had asked for it.
Ever since, he vowed to not have a girlfriend. One night stands he could manage, after all a man has needs, more he would never accept.
But this girl, May made him feel like what he had experienced with Charlotte hadn't been love. Not that he lived her, no. He had only started having feelings for her and at times it would be so intense he felt caged.
That's why he fought it, he fought his feelings for her as a man fights that which threaten to enslave him.
Perhaps this slavery is freedom, he thought as he walked down the hallway, looking for May and Amanda.
He had to apologize. He had behaved so poorly with both of them. He hadn't know how Amanda felt about him until she vented it all out back at her apartment.
Her apartment, he scoffed. He would never let them go back there. He promised himself. He would never give them a reason to feel like they had to move out.
"May" he called, knocking on her door.
He let himself in when he heard no response from inside. He found her fast asleep on the bed. He hair spread all over her pillow.
Her lips were slightly parted with little snore coming out of them.
He ran his fingers on her cheeks without even realizing. He stood up abruptly when the door opened to reveal Amanda.
"What are you doing here? " she asked.
"Who me? Well I was just... umh...i was looking for you.Yes I was looking for you. " he stuttered.
"Woah, come down. Why are you so nervous " she asked with a knowing smirk.
"I am not nervous. " he defended.
"Okay. Well now you've found me, so... "
"I wanted to apologize to you actually "
he began when May sat up, rubbing her eyes.
How cute, he thought, at the sight of her unable to stop himself.
"I mean. I came to apologize to you both. I am sorry I was being stupid and inconsiderate. I didn't mean to make any of you uncomfortable or disrespectful you. I am sorry. "
"It's okay"May said.
"No, it's not okay. He has to learn a lesson so that he doesn't repeat it again. So I have decided that he will be given silent treatment until we decide he is forgiven. " Amanda told May who only gave her a nod, a smile playing on her lips.
"Come on Mandy. is this even necessary? May has already forgiven me" he whined.
"Yes it's necessary. And your silent treatment starts now" Amanda said walking past Daniel, leaving behind a giggling May.
"You think it's funny? " he asked stalking towards May.
Still laughing May ran into the bathroom, locking the door.
"Laugh all you want baby girl. I will surely get you back. " he said against the door before walking out the room.
May came out of the bathroom smiling.
She just hoped he wouldn't go back to his cold, rude self again. Because this Daniel was tolerable, unlike the other one.
She went to the bathroom and took a long shower, Her mind constantly drifting to Daniel.
He changed into a short and a tank top before making her way downstairs for lunch.
