Eighteen.
Eighteen years of venturing the vast areas of space, eighteen years of learning all there is to know about surviving, eighteen years I've been on my own, except for the mini machine-pet thing who perches on my shoulder all the time.
It's not so bad, being on your own I mean; I know everything there is to know about ships, and can pretty much fix everything, I also know various cultures and learn quite a lot to keep me going, the thing is that it's hard to make a living in space- you see, space is infinite so today I could be in one galaxy tomorrow I'll be five galaxies away from where I was- because when you travel at light speed, the universe is infinite... I guess what I'm trying to say is space is eternal, there may be no time in space but, there definitely is. You know I may be able to travel wherever I want but I still run like everyone else, I wake, I eat, I sleep- I still have a 24-30 hour day frame like everyone else.
So today is a new day and a new age!
Woop!
But being honest, it feels like any other day. Just a new number, I don't actually know when I was born so when I was four I decided to choose a random day and repeat it each year to celebrate a new year, a new day and a new age.

Luna groaned as she fell out of bed in a huff, clutching the thick silky material back into her chest she peeled her eyes open and looked around the familiar bunk in her ship. When Luna saw the lights were dark she groaned even louder throwing the warm material to the side and huffing as she stretched out.
When Luna was ready to take the day on she shouted down the small shuttle for her companion, her voice was hoarse and dry due to being parched and dehydrated... she didn't care however as her voice boomed across the small rooms and hallways.
"Max!"
"Max"
She sighed changing out of her loose clothes into stretchy fabrics and a sports bra that helps up her medium-sized cups nicely... Luna had clothes until she turned 10 and realised she couldn't fit in them anymore, but also coming across a space station at that age for the first time she thought it would be a good idea to use some valuables such as jewellery hidden in the ship to get things that she needed, like most of the clothes she wears today.
Luna stumbled down to the deck and perched in the main seat in front of the window curling her feet up and lifting her chin into the crack of her knees, hugging herself.
Soon after Max appeared and perched on her shoulder, Luna giggled as she scratched his ear a little before he huffed out and snorted.
Luna sighed looking into the vast space in front of her.
"What shall we to today?" she spoke to Max softly humming.
Max flew off her shoulder beckoning her to follow, as she walked into the small kitchen area behind him. Luna rolled her eyes and smiled affectionately at Max, she then used her synthesiser to make him a small bowl of mush that he seemed to always enjoy, after that she grabbed a cup and poured some hot water and synthesised some coffee from the machine, the synthesiser was relatively simple and came with tons of foods that over the years Luna grew to love, she thought it must've been from her old planet.
She sipped the brew calmly closing her eyes enjoying the peacefulness of a regular day, the sweet sour taste flooded down her throat as she embraced it smiling to herself.
"What shall we do today then Max, We're currently 2 hours away from the Lingo galaxy or 4 hours from Juni Juni we've been to a lot before as it's got the best space station I've seen and Lingo is a quiet galaxy and quite primitive to other species... but what do you think maxy?" She blabbered on to the little pet who snorted his food up and perched back on her shoulder before releasing four squeaks earning him a rub around the ear.
"Juni it is then." Luna spoke happily as she walked back to her deck and sat in her soft chair that was now pretty worn out.
"Hold on tight" Luna squeaked, "There's a meteor shower ahead, but you know I'm the best driver ever."
Max shrieked and attempted at rolling his eyes which made Luna laugh affectionately.
They started navigating through they're charted course as Max began to nap on Luna's shoulder and Luna stayed focused on driving as it was her daily task, if they wanted to go somewhere new or old or anywhere she'd have to drive.
But what she didn't expect to see on her birthday, was the fact that it wasn't an asteroid shower...
It was a torn up ship, and a survivor panicking in the vast distance of space, although she could only see it as ant sized, she knew she'd be near the species or ship soon to salvage parts and help whoever needed help.
But it was then that Luna put her foot down and went full speed ahead.
The figure in the distance was becoming closer... as it collapsed into the wreckage.
Luna only had a small amount of time to save whoever it was.
And she was definitively going to try.
