The Map and The Sky

Through the forest of Hollow Trees, crossing five villages, the border city Tallus and then into the Holy Capital of the Heavenly Realm, Constantinople. Wait for a second, wasn't that the name of the middle eastern city back on Earth, in the region that saw the Crusades and has always been rife with war since ancient times?

'There must be a link. Perhaps that was the clue to events that ushered in the new era.'

Damien felt that his know-how was truly superficial at the moment. The map gave him a lot of information, but he needed to know more. Unfortunately, he had to wait till he was away from the direct clutches of Losbourne Barony.

Thankfully, he kept up with his training, and the angelic blood in him enabled him to read and speak in the tongue of nature.

He had no clue as to why everyone spoke the same tongue. It just came to him naturally. As intriguing as it was, right now, he had to focus on the immediate journey.

He munched on the biscuits as he gathered his thoughts.

'I wish I had a superpower like the protagonists in the novels he used to read.'

Even though he lamented about his current circumstances, he knew that unlike those novels, this was frighteningly real.

The sun was high in the sky. Even though it was hot and sultry, people occasionally looked at the celestial bodies in the sky.

Two gigantic planets lay one after the other, first the smaller Earth and then the larger Demonic Realm. A long bridge bifurcated and landed in various regions on each planet could be seen in the sky. It was as if the celestial bodies were held together by webs, a mesh of pathways.

A strange mechanism that was inexplicable by Newtonian mechanics allowed the planet to retains its original rotational and revolutionary cycles.

Even the gravity was unaffected. Although Damien begged to differ as he could feel the difference due to the large size of the planet he was on.

New era scientists developed a theory with the help of a physicist from India. The Guptonian Realism explained using a combined model of quantum and relativistic physics that planets were all in their own dimensions but they overlapped due to the Broken Symmetry of nature, giving rise to this unique situation through the superposition of individual dimensions.

The unified theory of physics suddenly saw many direct applications and help humans face off the beasts with the advent of mana and magic, which could be utilized by every nine out of ten humans.

Unfortunately, Damien belonged to the latter.
