Chapter Thirty Four

"I swear, they were clean when I left them." A forty two year old Adrian said to his beautiful wife.

"And I swear sometimes I feel like running away." She replied ushering her kids in.

"Momma it wasn't my fault." Said a five year old dark brown eyed girl putting her left little hand on her chest and raising the right one.

"Summer what happened?" Her mother asked crouching down to meet her light brown eyes.

"It was all Stormi." Summer said pointing at her look alike with dark brown eyes and curly hair.

"Stormi, want to tell me what really happened?" Munzi asked moving to look at her second daughter.

"I saw a small birdy. It was injured and I went to help it." Stormi explained her big bright, dark brown eyes looking so innocent.

"Was the bird in the mud?" Munzi asked the corners of her lips lifting just a little.

"No. It was on the tree so I went up and made sure it was okay." Stormi replied smiling.

"I still don't understand how you all ended up being muddy with tattered clothes." She said before looking at her other children.

"Selene, Sofia, Kayden and Kaleb, what really happened? I want the truth. I promise I won't get angry." Munzi said also placing one hand on her chest and raising the other. She turned to look at Kayden.

"Well momma, after Stormi looked at the birdy, we saw a piggy. It was playing in the mud so we went to tell it to stop so that it wouldn't get dirty." Kayden replied smiling proudly, his blue eyes sparkling.

"I promise momma, the piggy talked to me and said that he couldn't come out because he was having so much fun." Selene piped in. Her moon blue eyes looked so innocent, you couldn't help but believe her.

"Sofia and Kaleb, anything you want to add?" Munzi smiled at they youngest children.

"You always say momma, if you can't beat them, join them. We couldn't beat the piggy because it was having so much fun." Hazel eyed Kaleb gave his say. Munzi just shook her head and looked at Sofia.

"It was my fault for getting my dress dirty momma. I wanted to study the piggy's skin. It was branded." Piped in black eyed Sofia with all the intelligence in the world. Looking at all her six children, Munzi couldn't decide whether to laugh at them or hug them or cry for the all white outfits that had been just a little over half an hour before.

"Adrian, do you have anything to say?" She asked standing up and facing her husband.

"It was all the piggy's fault and partly yours. You gave them good advice." He said trying miserably to hide his amusement.

"I'm seething right now Adrian. We have to be ready in ten minutes and the kids look like literal pigs. Do you think now is the right time to be laughing at me?" She asked giving him her boss face.

"Oh oh daddy is in trouble." Sang Summer.

"Kids, why don't you go to your rooms and undress. I'll be right there." Adrian pleaded with his kids.

"Okay daddy." They all chorused before running to their respective rooms.

"Oh man what are going to do? I'm so tired." Munzi whined sliding against the walls to the floor not caring that her white jumpsuit would get dirty.

"Don't worry Moon, I'll fix this besides I took the video of them getting dirty so I guess this is as much of my fault as it is theirs." Adrian comforted running out of the room before the daggers Munzi threw with her eyes hit him.

"I swear he does it on purpose." Munzi says to herself sliding further on the floor. "Oh shit!" She says getting up and looking at her jumpsuit. It was also now too dirty to wear.

"I guess they really are my kids." She said moving to the closet to change. She went through her clothes and settled on navy blue wide legged pants and a white top. At least with these kind of pants she could wear wedges and still look stylish. She changed and then went to the other rooms to check on the kids.

"Are you looking for something?" Adrian asked getting out of Kaleb's bedroom. He leaned against the wall looking sexy as hell in his navy blue jeans and white t-shirt.

"I'm looking for my kids." Munzi replied swallowing wondering if they would really make it downstairs in time with him looking like that.

"Really Moon? You are thinking about making other babies after what the last six just did?" Adrian asked running a hand through his hair.

Munzi looked at him shyly after having been caught fantasising about jumping on him.

"I wasn't thinking about that." She lied playing with her hair.

"Too bad because you look ravishing in those pants." He said lowly moving close to her and tracing his middle finger across her chest.

"I do?" She asked looking up at him. He smiled at her seeing as she still grew shy around him even after knowing each other for eighteen years.

"More and more everyday I don't think I can keep up." He replied.

"Well you still have your stamina. Want to show me just how far you can keep up?" She asked cupping his already hard manhood.

"You little tease." He said and picked her up throwing her over his shoulder. She squealed a little laughter of delight. Needless to say, they were late to their own children's birthday party.

"What were you guys doing up there for so long? And what's your secret, you're glowing." Akila asked as soon as she saw them.

"We were just taking a moment to remember the kids and how they came to be." Munzi answered smiling too widely which caused Adrian to burst into laughter. That was the kind of happiness we all dream of.

"For that long?" Akila asked looking over to see her second born who had been brought over by the ever responsible Sofia.

"What happened Sofia, is he okay?" Akila asked picking her son up. She had finally met a man who could match her steady but flying pace.

"He's okay. He just pooped and it smells. Also they just had sex." She said nonchalantly looking at her parents.

"Later auntie." She said before running to join her siblings in the trampoline.

"Oh my God." Munzi said turning to Adrian. "Please tell me my little baby did not just say that."

"I don't know Moon. I think my mind is playing tricks on me." Adrian replied also looking very scared.

"What are you guys talking about? Sofia just said that you two came from having sex." Akila said then laughed before going away to change her son's diaper.

"Did you have the talk with any of them?" Munzi asked.

"No. Did you?" Adrian asked back.

"I didn't. What's happening?" She asked holding her forehead.

"I think our little babies are growing up too fast. What should we do?" Adrian asked taking his wife's hands into his.

"I have no idea. Should we maybe tell them to slow down?" She asked looking at them happily jumping on the trampoline.

"I don't know. Maybe but they're only five." He replied also turning to look at them.

"Is it that we are that good of parents or just really bad ones?" She asked playing with her fingers nervously.

"We aren't bad parents." He reassured her kissing her cheek.

"I guess not. They are just growing up and sooner or later, they would know all these things right?" She reasoned trying to make sense out of it.

"You're right. They're just really smart children who are developing faster than they should." He also reasoned to calm himself down.

"We should start watching our words from now onwards."

"Definitely Moon."

"I love you Adrian." She suddenly said turning to look at him.

"Why so suddenly?" He asked and she teared up.

"I just felt like this is the right moment to say it." She explained looking at him with so much love and adoration.

"Right when we were talking about our kids knowing sex?" He asked amused. His wife was a unique one.

"I know right? It's so weird. I'm just having these unexplainable emotions..." She said and then suddenly stopped. "Oh God please no. The last time I was feeling like this I was pregnant with six children."

"Oh God no." Adrian also said. Not that he didn't enjoy his wife being pregnant but it had been so stressful on her body, they all thought she would die. They had been advised not to have any more children especially due to their advancing age.

"Are you on the pill?" He asked.

"Always." She replied.

"What are we going to do if we are pregnant again?" He asked. She was going to say that she didn't know but suddenly felt that presence again. That so familiar holy feeling that she always felt when she needed clarity. It was there with her. The late afternoon sunlight became more enthralling and it was like everything was happening in slow motion. She smiled and looked around. The kids were running around laughing and Adrian was looking like an angel. The sunlight seeming like a halo.

"I'm not pregnant." She said smiling ever so sweetly at him.

"Thank God." He said and held her from the back swaying to the beat of Jacob Lee's "I belong to you".

"Yeah." She said also moving with his body. The moment was perfect and the sun and moon would continue rising and lighting the world every day until the end of eternity because it was always his and hers.
