My jaw dropped open. Ryder is outside my door and actually talked to me. Wow. I guess learn something new everyday.
"Hello, can I come in?" I could hear that he was starting getting irritated. I was so immersed in my thoughts that I forgot to reply.
Whoops.
"Yeah, I guess. Come in." I said as I sat up in my bed.
He opened the door slowly and peaked his head through. Then hesitantly stepped inside closing the door behind him.
"Can I sit down?" He asked while taking in his surroundings.
"Uh-hm." I hummed in response and pointed at my black sofa chair. He saw it and sat down.
"I'm sorry about my behaviour back at the office." I apologised looking down because I was embarrassed at my actions.
"Okay. So about the mission. Here's the information." He got up and handed me a little booklet made out of several sheets of paper stapled together. Then sat he back down once I received it.
"The mission is in Ireland. We're going to go to school as the troublemakers. Our background is basically, were childhood friends, both of our parents died in the same car accident, we have been expelled out of the same schools. And that's it really." He finished
"Why do have to be the troublemakers and is there any information on the school that were going to?" I attacked him with my questions. He explained it all to me and went through it all to help me understand better.
An hour passed by and we got along pretty well we even made jokes! Not many though. After a while I started to accept the fact I was going to have to work with him. As much as it scared me I had to accept the fact.
"Oh and I forgot to say this earlier but we're going to have to live together like in the same house!" He said nervously anticipating my response.
"Huh?" I said giving him a death glare unknowingly.
"You heard me." He calmly answered not fazed by my intense stare. I became silent and movers my gaze to my booklet. I was having a hard time controlling my anger now. I tightened my grip on my quilt as hard as I could. And just kept staring at my sheet not making eye contact because if I did I knew I would bust.
Ryder seemed to notice my sudden change of behaviour. And tried to reassure me that it will be fine and that it wouldn't change anything.
His words calmed me down a little. But not completely so I excused my self to the bathroom.
Inside the bathroom I found some medicine. I didn't believe it would help me but I was going to try them now because I didn't want hurt Ryder or mess my room out anger.
They're meant to calm me down like the sleeping tablets I take. But less concentrated and strong. I waited an extra 5 minutes to make sure that the medicine worked. When I exited the bathroom I saw Ryder pacing slowly around the room.
"I'm sorry." I apologised as soon as I saw him and bowed at 90 degrees. He got a bit startled when I spoke behind him.
He must've seen me come out. He exhaled heavily when he saw me.
"It's fine. Don't apologise. I understand. But since your finished could I use the bathroom?" He asked while looking at the door anxiously.
"Sure?" I was surprised at his request. I thought he would have wanted to leave but I guess I was wrong.
Almost immediately after he heard my answer he ran in the direction of the door, shut the with a loud band that startled me and then I could hear the lock turning.
He must have been bursting. I chuckled to myself.
Ten minutes passed and I was finished highlighting the important information in my booklet and decided to get my self a cup of coffee as I was feeling slightly tired.
I choked on my breath with the fright I got when I saw Ryder sitting in the chair focusing on the piece of paper in front of me.
"Oh. You noticed me. Hi!" He said still keeping his eyes glued to the paper. I heard him chuckling when he turned the page over.
"You scared me to death." I moaned.
"Anyways do you want coffee or tea?" I offered while getting up from my bed and walking over to the kitchen.
"What are you having?"
"Coffee." I replied while filling up the kettle and then placing it on the counter clean top.
"Then I'll have coffee too. No sugar or milk. Please." He enquired.
"Okay."
I felt unusually tired. But shook off the feeling as I persuaded myself to believe it was from all the training and missing lunch.
"What do ya think of the mission?" I asked trying to converse with Ryder as I saw he was finished studying the booklet and moved his concentration to his phone.
He looked at up me confused when he heard my Irish accent which made me laugh.
"Wh-at?" I managed to say in between my quick and shallow breaths as I was laughing so hard.
"You voice. It sounds weird." He giggled at me, seeing me in stitches.
When I finally calmed down I made the coffee and served them with some biscuits. After we were finished talking I looked at my phone and saw that it was six o'clock in the evening.
"It's six. You should go down for dinner." I announced.
"Yeah. I'll go then. Bye!" He said as he got up and waved at me making his way to the door. I decided to go down after I washed the cups and the plate I used to serve the biscuits on. As I was washing my head started to feel light and dizzy.
"From the lack of food." I concluded.
After what felt like thirty minutes but was really was only five, I got my phone and the headed to the restaurant to get my dinner.
My head was staring to get so dizzy to the point I had to stop and sit on the stairs. I opened my eyes but my vision was blurry. I kept blinking until it returned to normal and stoop up again but when I did I fell straight back down, rolling down the stairs.
My body felt so limp, I couldn't move but I was fully aware of my surroundings and other peoples presence beside me trying to help. After a few seconds of laying on the floor I decided to let the darkness take over me and my mind.
