Chapter 18

I jumped out of my skin. Quickly reloading the gun, pulling back the trigger, pivoting around and pointing the gun at the source of the voice.

"Okay, okay. Calm down don't shoot me. I didn't do anything." Ryder blurted.

His hands were slowly creeping their way to his left, front pocket. Trying his best to go unnoticed. Which he succeeded in.

Within a flash, Ryder snaped his gun out and pointed it out towards me.

"Put the gun down. There's no reason for it to be out." Ryder ordered while slowly approaching me.

"Stop moving, put your gun down and THEN I will put my gun down." I snarled, emphasising every word clearly.

"You know the rules." Ryder reminded me as he was still edging towards me.

I made a quick, sudden move towards him which resulted in my getting shot in the lower leg. I hissed in pain but igroned it as the I knew the pain would go within a few minutes.

"That's what you get." Ryder remarked while strolling over to help me with my wound.

"Don't bother." I mumbled, walking straight passed Ryder and out the door. Ryder followed me out.

"Stop following me." I complained, still walking forward.

"Nice try Cam." Ryder stated, indacating that he wasn't going to leave me alone. That only left me with one option.

To run.

I sprinted down the stairs, turned a sharp corner, through a door and behind the bar counter. I crouched down onto my knees and crawled towards a spacious, empty cupboard. I creeped inside and closed the door behind me.

Just then Ryder opened the door and walked in with his hands in his pockets causally. He made his way over to the counter of the bar and sat on a chair there.

He sat there for a few seconds and then spoke up.

"Camilia Black. I know your in here so you might aswell come out now. There's no point in hiding." He shouted so that I would hear.

I didn't move nor did I respond. Ryder got up and walked behind the counter. He stop just out side of my hiding space.

The door swung open revealing a proud Ryder.

"Found you." He announced.

"Ugh. How though?" I asked escaping from the cupboard.

"There's blood dripping on the floor." He explained pointing to the red puddle of liquid I stood in.

"Ohh. That makes sense." I shrugged and left the room. Ryder stayed in the room this time.

Wait we don't even have a nurse here.

I sighed and dragged my feet along the ground back towards the bar. I entered with my head down.

"Do we have a nurse?" I enquired. I was feeling really embarrassed now.

"Come on." Ryder walked passed me and further down the opposite way I had exited before. I scurried behind him until we came to a huge door which led out side.

"Where are we going?" I asked while stopping in the door way. My leg was starting to throb so I leaned on my opposite foot to ease the pain.

"Don't worry I'm not trying to kidnap you. The hospital is in the garage dow at the bottom of the garden." He confirmed turning to me.

"You good?"

Ryders face showed worry and guilt as he scanned my injured led. It was spilling blood all over the floor. I laughed off the pain and started walking.

"Yeah just come on." I lied.

As we were walking my leg started going dead which resulted in me limping.

"You sure your okay?" Ryder asked while walking beside me.

I just hummed and nodded in response. My leg was now experiencing excruciating pain.

A few more steps Cam. Come on.

As I took a step my leg gave in to the pain. I collapsed unexpectedly on the grass. I hissed in pain as my hand hit off my wound.

"Why do you lie so much?" Ryder murmured under his breath. He walked over to me who was attempting to get up independently.

Ryder came up behind me and scooped my up bridal style. I was shocked by his actions.

I felt somewhat safe in his arms.

"You should eat more." Ryder suggested as we were approaching the garage.

"Wha? I mean what?" I asked wrapping my arms around his neck to make my self lighter. I felt like he was struggling to hold my heavy body up.

"Your too light. Eat more." He stated looking me dead in the eye.

"Oh." I mumbled.

I was always one to find it hard to accept my body and my weight. Every one seemed so pretty but then there was me. A lump.

One day I told Sandra about that worry. She said that I was most beautiful person that she ever met. When I told her about my weight problems she said that it was probably because of my muscle mass. It helped my for a few weeks but then I fell back into the same depressing cycle.

Hearing those words from Ryder surprised me.

Ryder brought me to the underground level of the already huge garage.

Ryder gently lay me down on the hospital bed. While the nurse attended to my wound. I was given a mask filled with laughing gas to numb my leg as I was getting stiches.

When it was finished I could finnaly put pressure on my leg. I thanked both Ryder and the nurse.

Just then I got a text from Dolly.

Hey! dinner will be seved at 7 tonight you should make you way over now.

When I looked up at Ryder he seemed to know what was happening. He must of got a text to.

"Oh Sandra said that we should hold a party tomorrow. She said it would show our power and wealth. She also said that it would help us spot our victim." Ryder explained as we made our way to our rooms.

"Really okay." I agreed, nodsing my head slowly.

"Goodnight." I waves and headed into my room. Dolly was inside sitting on the dresser table.

"So a party huh?"
