Rani had snuck out since she was twelve and had been engaging in piracy since she was fourteen. None of the other men had guessed she was a woman, as she was careful to cover her head and wore boy's clothes. She simply stuffed a few cotton rags between her legs and walked like she owned the world and the other men never picked up a hint otherwise. Besides, back then, it had been easy, before breasts and blood to hide. Now she wrapped up her chest tightly, so they wouldn't get in the way or attract attention.
