Chapter 51: Liberation

Lions actually were on Darryl's list of fears. He put them on the list after watching a nature special that talked about how a male lion, once it became the head of a pride, would brutally kill all of the pride's cubs so that the female lions would be ready to mate again and would mate with him. He wrote the word Lions on his list that very night. Now, he was walking though the darkness, prepared to meet one face to face. After the lion, Darryl would go to the eagles, then the tiger, then the elephant, then the wolf, then the snake and on and on. The maps were marked with tiny pictures of hundreds of animals. He still couldn't discern what some of the symbols meant. It didn't matter. The symbols did little to prepare him for seeing the animals up close anyway.
