Day 5 Bad Dream

"Emma! What are you doing? It's dangerous! COME BACK!" The worst thing Leo had ever imagined was finally happening. Emma was sitting on the edge of the terrace, he could only see her back.

"Thank you Leo, it has been great pleasure being with you for these days."Emma was looking into the distance when she spoke. She looked calm like always.

"But it's time to say goodbye."She turned and gave Leo a big sweet smile, then she fell off the building.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leo woke up from this horrible dream, then noticed Emma wasn't in his room.

Damn it! Please no!!!

Still being caught up by the bad dream he just had, Leo just couldn't stand the absence of the girl. He got up from bed immediately and ran through the whole apartment looking for Emma.

Emma was in the kitchen cooking.

"Good morning. Want some breakfast?"Emma just finished making the pancake when she saw Leo.

"You look great today."it was such a relief for Leo seeing Emma was totally okay.

But it's too 'okay'.

Leo drove the idea away from his head, though the restless feeling still hounding him.

Emma was so adorable when she ate. Normally she would lost interest to food when she's sober. Everything made sense when Leo saw the wine bottle on the table.

This time, he didn't say anything but poured himself a glass of wine. Maybe he needed it to ease the stress from his nightmare as well.

"Do you know some boarding school don't have heat for winter...I had chilblains on my hands every year for hand washing the clothes....After my Mom died, they took everything away from me. My father sent me to a boarding school far away because my stepmother didn't want me around, and they only paid the money for the school. I started to work to support myself when I was 15. I have been all alone for ten years."Emma looked at Leo and smiled.

"I can handle things myself. Don't worry about me."Emma knew that Leo was worry about something, about her. But It's not necessary. She new what she was doing, from the beginning to the end.

"I'm sorry, Emma."

I If we met earlier, I could have a chance to protect you...

Suddenly, the feeling of guilt struck Leo. He had been looking for this girl for years, he finally found her but it's too late. Before the engagement party, he was hoping to see her happy face, just like the first time they met. What he didn't know was that her happiness was worn out by the loneliness and miserable life. Lights faded away from her eyes, when she smiled, her eyes wouldn't curve. He wanted to save her, even though she was not expecting any help. He knew, she would never asked for help nor believed any promises because disappointment was the only answer.

"Let's drink it away."Leo opened the cabinet and took out the bottles in it.

May be this time, he needed it more than she did.
