The sudden incident of Emma's wedding had brought her Dad Charles real trouble. His wife and daughter died in the fire hazard, and his only son in prison facing a severe charge of felony. And there was more. Because of the incident, the company's stock price kept falling. Someone was secretly going after Charles's company. These days he was so badly battered, he had drank a lot and he didn't even noticed someone was in his office when he entered.
It was 11pm in the evening, the whole office was empty. Charles didn't want to go home as it would be as empty as in the office. The smell of his cigar had caught his attention before he turned on the light.
"Hi, Charles."light was still out, he saw someone sitting on his chair and smoking his cigar.
"Who are you?"He asked.
"I'm the person who was after your company recently. Tough days, huh?"The man was facing the glass wall which contained the best view of the city.
"Why are you doing this? What do you want?"Charles was irritated and started to shout at him.
"I want you to return everything to Emma. Everything you stole from her and her mother."the man turned back and looked at Charles in the dark.
"Who the hell are you? Get out of my office right now or I'll call the police!"He shouted.
"I give you 1 week. Transfer everything to this account. If you don't do that, I have a headline story waiting for you. It's about the kidnapping case 11 years ago. "The man was not intimidated at all, on the opposite, his voice was deep and calm. Charles could feel the rage behind the words was even more obvious in this way.
After hearing this, fear emerged in Charles eyes. This guy knew his dirty secret. He became speechless and was frozen on the spot.
"B...But Emma is dead, so is her mother." Charles said it in a trembling voice.
"Now, do as I say. When you finish the first task, I'll give you further instruction."Leo stood up and walked close to Charles. The light of the city reflected on his face, and no mercy was shown.
"It's you."Charles recognized Leo when he saw his face.
"It's me, uncle Charles."Leo smirked and walked pass him.
"But why would you know about that?" He asked.
"The kid who was kidnapped along with your dead wife, it was not the son of the gardener, it was me."Leo whispered to Charles's ear and leave.
A week later, after Charles had transferred everything as Leo told him to, two headline stories were out.
The first one was the kidnapping case that happened 11 years ago, was actually a well planned murder which led to the implication that Charles might be one of the suspects who was involved in this case. Charles's hands were trembling while he held the news paper with this story in his office.
"I did everything you as you told me. Why are you still doing this?"Charles never thought that someone would still know the truth of the kidnapping.
"No, Charles, I never promised you anything, remember?"Leo hid his emotion behind the sun glasses.
"What do you want?"Charles was looking desperate.
"I want a confession. Tell me everything."Leo turned on recording pen then placed it on the desk.
Before Leo left his office, he told Charles that the police might on their way to his office and he had 1 hour left to make his choice. In the end, the second news was, Charles chose to leave a note and jumped off the building from his office window. The case was close as the suspect committed suicide.
