All Richard could do was sit and wait for his inevitable death, the owl was strong enough to kill him and under 10 blows and he was completely paralyzed and unable to fight back.

all I could think now was how he was leaving his brother helpless and at the mercy of this new world they found themselves in.

Of course Jason wasn't exactly helpless this was just how an older brother thinks of his younger brother when he knows there's nothing he can do to help him.

As he watched the owl approach on the ground with its wings spread and almost in a taunting fashion the owl raised itself for the killing blow. Richard thought to himself "I wonder what Jason is doing right now I hope he's safe, I hope he knows I love him even though I've never said it."

Just as the owl when for richards jugular a arrow pierced the side of the owls head carrying it away a few feet and finally to the ground.

Richard exhaled deeply he had been holding his breath in anticipation of his death. He then looked around for his savior, he was still immobilized so all he could see was the extent of his peripheral sight.

He slowly regained mobility second by second. He looked to his left where the arrow had come from, through the thick brush and countless trees and could see a hooded figure about 600 feet away on the branches of the trees moving twords him slowly jumping form branch to branch , looking around for anything that might attack.

It reminded richard of a skilled ninja assassin he use to watch in movies that made no sound and left no trace they were there. Finally the figure was in a branch just above where richard.was still lying on the ground unable to regain control of his limbs. The figure jumped down landing on the ground on richards left side.

To richard it appeared the Ninja character had mad no sound but he also knew it could be because of his ear drums being ruptured.

The figure looked at richard on the ground but the eyes were the only feature that could be seen everything else covered in a black fabric that seemed to be camouflage as well slowly blending into whatever backdrop it was in.

While making eye contact the figure simply stepped over richard and knelt downward to skin and pluck the carcass while also cutting out the voice box of the animal. After finishing mutilating the corpse for its crafting supplies , the figure stood up and look at richard again and said something but it was inaudible to richard .

Richard said "i cant hear you " in his mind the sound wasn't loud , but as soon as the words were uttered the ninja looked around fast as if expecting attack and then looked at richard with its finger to its lips signaling for richard to shut up. Obviously irritated by the ordeal the figure shook its head and turned to leave.
