1 year later
"Yoongi!" Jungkook ran into the studio, out of breath.
The younger man hunched over attempting to compose himself. Yoongi, unbothered, turned in his chair and stared in amusement at Kook. He simply raised his eyebrows in question.
"What are you doing? We need to be there in thirty minutes!"
Yoongi glanced at his watch and scowled. "I must of lost track of the time. I'm sure Jin can check our seats."
"That's besides the point, Mr. Min!"
Both men froze at the firm tone directed at Yoongi. Eun-ha frowned at him as he closed his laptop to hide what he had been doing. He wanted to edit the mix he had been working on the past few months. He had a beat in his head and rushed to his studio before it was forgotten.
After the release of Aera's album debuted, award nominations began to flow in. She was performing all over the world, and he was being offered projects from eager artists and producers. Each were given recognition for their contribution to the album, and grew more in popularity. Yoongi did not want to sign into any projects, and instead was focusing on releasing his own album. With the others returning at the end of the year, and Jungkook leaving, he decided to remain close to the company. He missed working on his own music, and had been doing so for the past months.
They were all due to attend the Golden Disc Awards in support of Lovee and Yoongi. The album was up for album of the year, and Lovee was nominated for both best female artist and artist of the year. Everyone was tense and anticipated that they would win album of the year. It would be the first album win where he produced it solo.
Eun-ha shook her head now in annoyance. She knew he would be at the studio working. He was always so work orientated. When he didn't meet them in the parking garage to head to the ceremony, she knew instantly he'd be hallowed up in his studio.
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the time," he said as he pulled her into a hug. Jungkook smirked and glanced away from them. "I'm dressed and ready to go. Let's not fight on this big night."
He gave his best pout and gently massaged her hands. She rolled her eyes at his ingenuine apology. She laughed at his desperate attempt to diffuse the situation. Not wanting to waste any time, she nodded in agreement.
****BigHit after party****
Everyone raised their glasses in a toast to Lovee an Yoongi. The night had been in favor of the two. They left the award ceremony with a win in each category they were nominated for. Always the humble man, Yoongi thanks everyone at Big Hit, Bang PD for allowing him the freedom to work on his choice project, he also thanked BTS and his family for always being his support, Lovee for being easy to work with and contributing her own writing skills. Lastly, he thanked Eun-ha for being his safe place when he needed somewhere to escape, and for loving him, flaws and all.
There hadn't been a dry eye in the crowd. Now they all gathered to celebrate the success of both artists. Seo-yeon, Aera, and Eun-ha sat together while the men walked around to greet guests. Aera had easily transitioned into the group. She was welcomed as the girls' little sister, and the others joined in the acceptance.
"So, Unnie, what are your plans when Jungkook enlists at the end of the year?" Aera asked Eun-ha.
"I've been issued the task of wrangling in the others when they return. I'll be very busy dividing myself between the four."
"Will they reunite, or continue separate projects?"
"That's yet to be determined," Eun-ha sighed. She was excited for the return of Taehyung, Namjoon, Jimin and Hobi, but she had to admit that she would have her hands full. Yoongi teasingly told her she could always be his manager again, to which she jokingly retorted that he was more stressful than the four.
"Eun-ha?" Seo-yeon playfully bumped her with her shoulder. Eun-ha blushed having been caught thinking about Yoongi.
"Yes?"
"Yoongi is summoning you," she teased. Sure enough, he waved her over when she met his eyes.
"See you two later," she shyly bid her friends farewell. They exchanged knowing looks as she was lead out of the party by Yoongi.
He held her hand and stopped outside a door. She looked up at him in puzzlement.
"What's wrong? Why aren't we entering?"
To her surprise, he looked nervous. He squeezed her hand and gazed at her. "This is where we met. The night that Jin opened up to everyone and they decided to date in secret. The night you said you told me not to give up."
She giggled at the nerve she had to speculate that he could steal Seo-yeon. At the time she only wanted to take the confused look away from him. When he snapped at her for talking excessively, and then instantly apologized, she knew she had to befriend him. Of course, she never expected that it would lead to the bickering and misunderstandings.
"Yeah, I said that to be nice," she leaned in to whisper to him. "You never stood a chance."
He laughed. There was no question that he didn't stand a chance at stopping Jin. It felt good to be able to laugh about it now. He opened the door and closed it when she walked further.
She gasped at the room and all the effort he had made in decorating it. Streams of lights dangled from the ceiling like twinkling stars, and flower petals were laid out on the floor in various hearts. At the center of the room were two large "planning" boards. Instead of the usual tacked information managers used to map out events, pictures of them together, or working were displayed.
She approached the board and grinned at each image. Pictures of them at award shows, parties, working in the studio or lounging at each other's homes. Some pictures dated back to before he enlisted. Them seated next to one another but annoyed. She chuckled knowing that Jungkook or Taehyung must have been the ones to capture those shots.
Her gaze stilled on a picture of them the last time they gathered before he left to serve. The picture was of Seo-yeon and Jin sitting close to each other on the couch. Eun-ha and Tae were seated across from them with Yoongi on a recliner to her right. Eun-ha being seated next to Yoongi, as the maknae line always strategically managed to do. Everyone held a pose: Jin and Seo connecting a heart with their hands, Tae giving his boxy smile with his signature 'V' sign, Eun-ha winked and aimed a finger heart at the camera.
She lightly placed her fingers on the picture. Her touch lingered on the face of Yoongi. He was the only one not looking at the photographer. His gaze was focused on Eun-ha. He had a tender smile on his face.
"I didn't realize that Jimin had taken the picture. We were still finding poses. I later found out that he snapped a series of pictures before counting down," he chuckled at the memory.
Jimin had sent him a text message the day he was to report to his station.
[TEXT] Jimin: Hyung! I thought I'd send you a parting gift. {attached image}
[TEXT] Yoongi: When was this taken?!
[TEXT] Jimin: Our last gathering. You can deny it all you want, but pictures don't lie.
Yoongi hadn't responded. He didn't know how to comment back. Instead he saved the picture.
"Eun-ha," he turned her attention away from the picture, "It took me long to accept that I had feelings for you beyond friendship. Even when everyone joked and flat out told me that they could see it in my eyes, I kept telling myself we were more like siblings."
He pulled her closer, "I couldn't have been more wrong, and blind. You were all I thought of for the two years I served. I wondered if you were well, and anticipated every update the guys gave me. The night we shared our first kiss shattered any doubt I had. Every moment since has been such a blessing and treasured experience. And I hope to continue this euphoric feeling for the rest of my life."
Eun-ha's eyes filled with tears as he went down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. He held her stare and hand.
"Eun-ha, will you resume your role in challenging, loving, caring, supporting and being my lover and friend, but replace the title of girlfriend with wife?"
"I'd love nothing more than to become Mrs. Min," she happily declared.
He slipped the ring onto her finger and stood to pull her into an embrace. They clung onto each other in bliss.
"Can we come in?!"
They glanced at the closed door. They hadn't heard the light knock during their hug. Jungkook whined again.
"Come on!"
"Yes!" Yoongi laughed.
Jungkook, Jin, and Seo-yeon walked in. Everyone gathered together in awe. The night carried on with their usual chatter and laughter. Eun-ha and Yoongi smiled at one another. They couldn't wait for the next chapter in their lives.
