With the end of the welcoming feast, the school year officially started. Students returned to their dorms to get a good night's sleep for their classes the next day.

Due to announcing his self-defense club, Tom was called to the Headmaster's office. He was questioned on what the club would do and where it would hold its meetings.

"Well, we would need a big room, as the space would be required. I would help then build muscle and teach them martial arts as I've learned a bit in the muggle world. I'm no expert as I mostly focused on swordsmanship, but I can teach them the basics. I'd also teach them how to fight an actual battle without rules." Tom explains a bit.

"What do you mean 'without rules'?" The Headmaster asks.

"Well, dueling is mainly what everyone is taught, but duels have rules. You can't kill or maim your opponent and so on unless it's a duel to the death, but those are extremely rare. I would teach them about what fights are like in the real world. A real fight has no rules after all." Tom explains in more detail.

"Do they need to know that?" Dippet didn't look convinced.

"Well, those that want to become Aurors would need to learn this. Not to mention if another dark lord appears to start a war, it's better they learn to defend themselves in the real world. What if they have the chance to kill a dark lord that's attacking them, but they don't take the opportunity because in their minds it's against the rules?" Tom explains further.

"Hmm, alright. I'll sanction the self-defense club, but a teacher must attend every meeting. Just in case someone gets injured and whatnot." The Headmaster agrees.

"Good, might I suggest the school nurse? She's not technically a teacher, but her being there would make the most sense. If someone were to be injured, she would know immediately." Tom offers.

That wasn't the only reason Tom suggested the nurse. She is a new member of his followers. Freshly enrolled during the party he held at the Rosiers.

"Hmm, that's fine with me. I'll speak to her and figure out the schedule. As for the room the club will gather in, I'm unsure so why don't you explore the castle and find one? As long as it isn't being used, you can have it for the club." Dippet offers with a smile.

"That'll work. Well, it's getting late. I should get to sleep." Tom checks the clock in the room.

"Yes, It is. Good night, Mr. Riddle." Dippet smiles and gestures that Tom can leave.

"Night, Headmaster."

————————————————————————

It didn't take Tom long to find a good room on the second floor of the castle. It was about three times the size of the room that he trains the Slytherins in. He would need the space as almost the entire school applied for his club.

The idea for the club came to his mind for few reasons.

One, he wanted to use it to quicken the finish of Lady Hogwarts' mission. With his newfound fame as the man that killed a dark lord, he knew many would flock to him now. Especially if he offers to teach them how to fight.

Two, he wanted to start upping the standard of wizards. In Tom's opinion, most wizards are weak and don't live up to their full potential. Yes, they are strong in magic, but laziness plagues the wizarding world. With the ability to do almost anything with a wave of a stick, why bother bettering yourself in other areas?

Lastly, he thought it would be a good way to spread his influence a bit. Bringing every Slytherins into his organization is great, but he may see potential in someone from another house.

Although he won't be bringing in entire houses as Slytherin is enough, at least for now, it is. If someone with the power of sight, like Luna Lovegood, were to appear, Tom would want them to become a follower as soon as possible.

After finding the room, Tom was informed of the times that the nurse would be available. He made a club schedule based on those times and announced it during lunch on the next day.

When the day of the first meeting arrived, almost the entire school showed up. It's a good thing that the room Tom found was massive, or else they would be packed like sardines shoulder to shoulder.

Even some of the teachers that weren't busy at the moment came to watch the club's first meeting.

"Can I have your attention please!" Tom calls out with a magically enhanced shout.

The room that was once filled with the laughter and gossip of children became silent.

"I would like to welcome everyone to the first meeting of the self-defense club. We have a lot of members, but I'm sure a good amount of everyone here will end up quiting by the end of the day." Tom says, confusing everyone in the room. "I would like to make it clear that while you are a member of this club I'm the boss. If I say to do something, you do it without question. Those of you that can't handle that are free to leave at any time."

As the crowd of new members heard him, they felt that this would be harder than they thought. Many of them thought that Tom would just give them some pointers here and there, but the way he's talking, this seems to be more serious than they imagined.

"Now, as the first activity of the self-defense club, everyone will run in circles along the edges of the room until I say to stop!" Tom exclaims with a happy attitude.

""HUH!?""
