I was met with zero resistance when I pushed through to the other side of the pillar. I frowned, thinking how easy I got through before an intense pain brought me to my knees.
"Argh!" I screamed in agony as the pain intensified, even though this body was just a projection made after my physical one they were naturally linked. So the feeling of having every organ in your body melt away in a what felt like a furnace wasn't a pleasurable feeling, thankfully both the flames from earlier and the purple aura I had conjured limited the amount of damage transferred to the physical body otherwise I'd have died a number of two times: "Ahh~ how stupid could you be? If you were relieing on the flames that engulfed you outside to provide some protection from the pillar you were half right in thinking so,even going as far as cloaking yourself in the lightening's aura very impressive… Not! You dumbass! That right there is the very essence of the fire elements power perfectly merged with it's host,I have every intention to leave you to suffer…"
While withering in agony the voice came back again as I heard it's first words I thought it was praising me not that it would help,I was mistaken, mockery that's what it was and distain if this pain wasn't going to kill me his words would.I know what I did wasn't smart I'd already figured my actions would bring me pain,I just didn't think it would be to this degree all the same I had no other choice so even though he was mocking me I didn't get angry or hated him as I knew he was partially right,I soon felt a presence in front me and although painful I lifted my head to see who it was.It was all pointless in the end as all I saw was a hand made out of flames reaching out towards my head, releasing a sigh I accepted what was about to happen but I was left flabbergasted as a warm and comfortable aura washed over me taking away the pain:"But alas Jason needs someone by him and as much as I hate to say it I'm at a loss as to what to do." After saying these words, the warmth and the presence disappeared, thankfully, though with the pain gone, I could stand once more.
'This is all mind boggling, who was that? Could he have been a fire elemental? But this is the first I've heard of any fire elemental or any other elemental manifesting in a person's subconscious mind... I'll have to report this but for now let's find Jason' Looking around I took note that although flames were present here as well they were for more compressed and under control than those presently outside the pillar, what was most surprising though l the white spiraling steps leading higher to what looked like a ceiling blocking a second or top floor.
I was still observing the ceiling when I heard a high pitch whistle before I got the air knocked out of me,I was sent tumbling across the floor only coming to stop when I crash into the inner walls of the pillar, with my vision blurred I hardly had time to cash my breath when I felt extreme heat heading towards me.
Raising my head, I saw three basketball size fireballs blazing towards me:'Holy sh** !' Reacting quickly I managed to increases the density and output of my lightening's aura to form a circular barrier around myself, what I didn't expect was the fireballs to suddenly split apart becoming six miniature versions of themselves and surround my barrier. Seeing that they had blocked off any chance I had to escape, I frowned before speaking.
"Okay, I get your point. I'm trapped now,now what?"
"You die? Isn't that the most likely scenario?" Came Jason's cold voice before he came into view and much like is physical body he was engulfed in white flames, but one thing was different he didn't have that maddening anger in his eyes and although he had me surrounded,he had yet to attack so maybe there was hope yet.
He apparently hated my guts, though, knowing this just made it seem almost impossible to get him to calm down.
"Before I listen to whatever bs comes out of your mouth, tell me why? Why did you take my life away from me?" Jason glared at me with such intensity that if possible, I'd be dead and rotten if he had willed it.
Guilt weighted on my conscience,it was only now that I had think about the severity of our actions and this was the consequences:"You knowing the why isn't going to help you, but I can compromise and tell how we of Sector Seven got our hands on the power of the elements"
Jason's eyes narrowed when he heard this but he didn't attack,he snorted but he did wait,I was more at ease now that things calmed down his eyes never strayed from me I had his undivided attention as I recounted what happened ten years ago...
"So what you're telling me is even to this day, you haven't figured out what caused that portal thing to appear?"
"It's called a void, and yes," I answered, correcting his mistake.
"Although we're mostly in the dark about how many Void's exist,we do know that each one leads to a different dimension. May it be a desolate or a striving world they are a possiblity in the Void, but each has its species and it was an encounter with one such species that caused the war," I spoke solemnly as I had minor flashbacks of the war.
"Was this just another pointless battle for superiority then? What were they after? Have you ever encountered each other before?!"Jason asked in anger and disbelief.
I smiled sadly as I heard his questions:"I'm afraid so,when they first attacked we had thought it was because their dimension was unhabitable, but this wasn't the case as after we won the war we discovered how vastly abundant the resources and wealth they had were. They could go on for years living in seclusion and peace, but no they got greedy and wanted everything in their grasp they would've been successful too even when all the sectors allied we were no match for them resources or otherwise,so you can imagine the joy and relief when Sector Seven disappeared only to return changed men and women.
We were lucky that day..... If that Void hadn't appeared, all of the Sectors and more would've been lost."
Frowning, he asked:"If you were so lucky, why don't you give me the details already?"
I sighed, feigning disappointment, but inwardly, I couldn't be more happy,I had him hook, and all that was left was to convince him to leave.
"I would, but given the circumstances, this isn't the place to talk. Let's return first before we continue this conversation,"
His frowned deepened as he glared at me, tension rose as I met his gaze not cowering in the slightest, apparently not seeing this going anywhere further, he sighed, finally relenting
He took a deep breath before closing his eyes, when he exhaled the pillar and flames slowly became hazy, before I knew it I was staring at Jason's face when his eyes slowly opened I gasped in shock as his once brown eyes where now a hazy white,as soon as I made this discovery so did he as he frowned and blinked his eyes repeatedly obviously something was wrong taking this opportunity I rushed at him and struck him at the back of his head,he staggered unsteadily before falling forward in my waiting arms I sighed after catching him.
'I really am the worst teacher, aren't I?'
