Arpious nodded, setting down her mug. "Sounds like a plan. I'll help with whatever you need. I'm not in a rush to leave."
Her son perked up at that, his face lighting with excitement. "Can I help too?"
"Of course," Elara replied with a warm smile, ruffling his hair. "You're the best little helper we have."
The boy puffed out his chest with pride, crumbs still clinging to the corners of his mouth.
Arpious couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. "Looks like I've got some competition," she teased, taking another bite of her own slice of bread. "I'll have to work twice as hard to keep up with you."
Elara leaned back and let out a soft laugh. "We'll see if you can keep up with both of us."
