5PM

I sat on my bed, staring at my phone; the time was 4:55. Still, there was no call. I laid back with my eyes thoughtlessly trailing the length and breadth of the wooden bars above. “If they won’t call, how would they come?” I reasoned.

That day, I was the first to leave the class. As crazy as it was after what happened, I couldn’t speak to anyone in school. I told Addison my encounter with my classmates; however, I withheld that of Julie and Pancho.

I was tempted to tell him about Julie, but a part of me refused to admit that she was saying the truth. “I’m not in love with Addison. And I’m not jealous of her.” I refuted.

I looked at my phone again, this time, it was 5:02. “Keren, sleep. You’ve done all you could.” I lost hope.

Less than 5 minutes of closing my eyes, I heard a knock. Quickly, I opened the door and before me, was Oscar.
