He sat up abruptly, “I never thought of it.”

“What happened after that time?” I leaned forward pinning my focus on him.

“Dad quit working at the auto garage and took up a job offer at Don Carlo farm.” Oscar rubbed his hairless chin as he spoke. He was thinking of something. What could it be?

“Well, since your dad left his previous job, he must have good reasons.”

“It wasn’t the job; I think it was something more. Dad never liked working in Don Carlo farm. He complained that his brother hardly spent time with his family because he was always at work. It was surprising to see him work there even against his principles.”

“Let me get this straight. Your uncle asked him to join in for a business deal; what does that have to do with working on the farm?”

Oscar's eyes darted contemplatively as he stood up, pacing.

“Uncle Ramoa worked as Don Carlo’s PA and my dad fixed his cars. Both their jobs cannot possibly provide that kind of money.”

“So what are you saying?”
