Mutual Feelings

"Look at this!" Kaminari yelled putting his phone close to Y/N's face, "Kirishima and your name is all over the news sites today! It's freaking crazy!"

Y/N already knew about it, of course. But she wasn't brave enough to check them out. The last time her name was on the news, it was a rumor about her and Todoroki dating. Apparently, all it takes is being an idol's sister to make media look for any little thing and make it into the news. It died down quickly as expected.

But this one, she was a bit curious to know about. "Well, anything good about me?" she asked.

"Oh yeah! You have...a pretty scary face though," Kaminari said and was immediately hit on his head by Kyoka.

"Basically you look intimidating, someone you don't wanna piss off," Kyoka said, and glanced momentarily at Bakugou, "Heard your cute friend has joined too."

"Who-"

"You know the one making your face red these days," Kyoka smirked, once again looking towards Bakugou, "Oikawa."

Y/N blushed lightly and said, "I don't know what you're talking about." She quickly went towards the kitchen to fix herself some breakfast. She needed to go to work-study with Kirishima anyways. But it was true. The conversations between her and Oikawa these days were a little bit...ahem, you know, teenagers.

She sat at the table and looked at Bakugou who was eating his food. More like...stabbing his food. Maybe all these small achievements of those who were in work-study were making him jealous. Yeah, that has to be it.

She quickly looked away and focused on her own food.

"Is it that bastard who you beat during the hero licensing exam?"

Gasp.

After days of ignoring her presence, he finally dared to talk to her. She felt irked about it. No, this wasn't happening. Nope. Ignoring his words, she continued eating her food.

"Hey can't you hear me?" he said again, anger laced in his voice.

No, she wouldn't give in.

"Are you deaf?"

"Why exactly do you expect me to talk to you as if we are friends?" Y/N asked, furrowing her brows, staring straight into his eyes.

He kept silent for a moment and started speaking, "I just asked you a stupid question-"

"We aren't friends, are we?" Y/N looked away at Kyoka, who was talking to Kaminari with a broad smile on her face, "So act like it."

"Whatever, I don't need to know about you or any stupid extra anyway," Bakugou said.

Sighing, Y/N got up and went towards the sofa to sit with Kyoka, Momo, and the girls. No way she was going to let Bakugou ruin her mood before the work-study.

Bakugou on the other hand, sat glaring at the girl. Sure, she talked to her harshly before. But..she never shut him down like this before. No matter what he tried to say to himself, a small part of him know that it did affect him when she...talked about their friendship. Well, after that incident, he didn't expect her to change drastically.

It was good. He didn't have any distractions.

But...she wasn't a distraction in the first place? At least that's what he thought.

Then her change in attitude shouldn't even bother her, right? But here he was, itching to know about this other guy. He was sure it was her opponent in the hero licensing exam. What did Kyoka mean by he joined her? He found it funny.

"What's so funny?" Kirishima asked.

"That bastard really joining Fat Gum's agency after getting his ass kicked by Y/N?" Bakugou scoffed, "He needs to work on his strength and strategy."

Kirishima smiled looking at his blond friend. "To be blunt, he joined for her," he said and observed Bakugou clenching his fists, "Not everyone is scared to make a move."

"I'm gonna fucking kill you," Bakugou grumbled, "Shut up."

"Way to call yourself out bro," Kirishima laughed, "It shouldn't even bother you right? I mean, you can barely tolerate her."

"That's not true," Bakugou said staring at his empty plate and then up at Y/N's direction, "She's cool."

"Well, all I can say is that they are moving fast," Kirishima sat beside him and pat his back, "if you want something with her, you gotta be fast. Cause that guy...is smooth."

"Mind your own damn business," Bakugou said, getting up and walking towards the kitchen.

"Is that a yes?" Kirishima asked, "I will inform Y/N-"

Kirishima looked at the fork that passed by his face and got stuck on the table. "I'm just being your best buddy," he said and ran for his life.

If looks could kill, he would be dead for million times now.

[ TIME SKIP ]

When Y/N walked out with Kirishima for the work-study that day, she didn't expect Midoriya Tsuyu and Ochaco to go in the same direction. To be precise, when they entered the building they were called into, they realized it wasn't just them. Many other heroes were present there too. And so were The Big Three and Oikawa. He joined a few days ago and he arrived much earlier.

But if so many heroes were present, something big was going on.

"We're all here, Nighteye," Ryukyu said, "You can get started."

Nighteye stepped forward and started speaking, "Thanks to the information provided by all of you, our investigation has progressed substantially. We've invited you here for a joint conference to share the intel we have acquired regarding the yakuza group Shie Hassaikai, and what we believe they might be planning."

It was a horrifying case. Y/N couldn't believe how much Midoriya and Mirio must've been blaming themselves after that incident.

They were all going to help with the case. The only thing that occupied her mind was how much pain the child had to endure. And it made her furious, that they would still need some time to rescue her. That bastard was probably taking her blood as she was thinking about it.

"Yeah, can't really get it out of our heads now."

Y/N looked at Oikawa who was walking beside her. "What?"

"I mean, the kid. I was one of the intels who spot the weird bullet. Thankfully, it missed me," Oikawa smiled looking at her, "Sorry I didn't tell you that. It's...embarrassing. I didn't want to tell you that I left an agency and joined here for being scared."

"It's okay to feel scared, you know. It's not like we are pros and face death every day. It will take time to get used to it," Y/N muttered the next words which reddened her ears, "Not as embarrassing as mine. I thought you joined...because.."

"...of you?" Oikawa brushed his hair back and chuckled, "I mean..it's one of the reasons?"

Y/N shot her head to her right, to look at him, "Really?"

"Yeah," he blushed and looked into her eyes, "I couldn't stop thinking about your...words."

"Um..the way it started was unintended," Y/N laughed, "but I guess I'm a bit happy how it worked out."

"...so you're saying," Oikawa cleared his throat, "You're okay if we...you know, get together?"

Y/N's mind, as well as heart, was racing. She couldn't believe someone other than Bakugou could make her feel like this. Was this..happening? It was mutual?

"I guess so," Y/N muttered, "o-only if you're okay with it. I don't want you to feel that things are going too fast."

They stopped as they were almost near the bus stop.

"So...after all of this is over," he stared at his feet, and held her hand, "let's go on a date?"

Oh.

Oh, she couldn't stop smiling. What was it that made him like her anyway? As long as she remembers, she didn't even get asked out for a date once.

"Well?" Oikawa asked looking at her with hopeful eyes. Kirishima was calling her to get on the bus that went to the station.

Y/N walked closer to him and stood on her toes, placing a small kiss on his cheek. And without glancing at his face, more like feeling too shy to look at him, she ran away to get on the bus. Oikawa stood staring as the bus sped away. Kirishima was shouting at her, he wasn't clear about what.

But what Oikawa was clear about was her answer.
