Chapter 274

Pearl waited up in the dark in the living room with full view of the entrance for Erik to arrive. She was in and out of sleep, but tried to stay awake as long as she could, she didn't want to miss his reaction.

Finally, at around midnight, the light flipped on and the entire foyer was blue. She watched as he put his luggage down and walked over to the throne. He knelt down on one knee and picked up the ultrasound photo and the teddy bear, bringing it to his chest and beginning to sob. He looked so beautiful there, kneeling down, completely weak with joy. All six foot four of him, brute strength and regal charm, on his knees, weeping, clutching a teddy bear like a lifeline to his heart.

"We are having a son." Pearl said, walking up to him. He stood up and grabbed her, picking her up into his arms. "I'm so happy." He said, his face red from crying.

"Me too." She said, smiling.

"I missed you. I love you." He said. "Please forgive me. Please trust me again."

"I forgive you. But the rest will take time. You know that." She said.

"I do." He said. He kissed her and pulled her into his arms again, holding her. Suddenly he pulled back.

"What was that?" He asked, looking down.

Pearl giggled. "Your son just kicked the shit out of you."

Erik looked shocked. "May I?" He asked. Pearl nodded. He placed his hand on her belly and felt the little one inside kicking his hand. "That's the most incredible thing I have ever experienced." He said, smiling proudly. "His kicks are so strong. That just be terribly uncomfortable for you. He is going to be a football player."

Pearl laughed. "I don't mind. And yes. He is quite active." She said. He looked at her like she was something he was in awe of.

The next morning, Pearl woke up to Erik with his hand on her tummy. The baby must have been kicking again while she slept and Erik was watching and feeling the movements.

"I had some coffee last night while I was waiting for you to come home. It seems to have picked him up ." Pearl said, yawning and wiping her eyes.

"This is so profound. I don't want to leave this bed. I want to feel him playing and kicking all day." Erik said.

Pearl smiled. Erik's phone rang and he reached over to answer it. "Hello Bash. Yes. I am in LA now... all good, then?" He asked. Pearl suddenly felt her heart sink. She had to tell Erik about her kissing Sebastian. And she had to talk to hI'm about all of this, it was time. Pearl got up and walked into the bathroom, still trying to listen to Erik's conversation.

"Yes. So not an issue then? Good. Yes I don't think we will be hearing from him again. Wonderful. See you in a week." He said as he hung up.

"Sebastian is coming here next week?" Pearl asked.

"Yes. He is coming to go over some business with me. And to see you, of course." Erik said, putting his arms around her.

"Yes. Of course." She said. That meant Sebastian hadn't told him either. Maybe she shouldn't right now until she checks with Bash first, she thought.

She put on a simple sundress and walked down to breakfast. Abigail was already there and setting up a gorgeous breakfast spread.

"Good morning, Princess." Abigail said. Pearl smiled and told her good morning as well.

"This looks amazing. I've missed you." She said.

Abigail smiled. "You should come here more often. Especially after the baby is born. We all can't wait." She said.

Pearl smiled and grabbed a plate full of food and tea. "Let Erik know I'm out on the patio, please." She said. Abigail nodded. After several minutes, Erik came out with tea and sat at the table with her. "Lovely day, isn't it?" He asked.

"I'm ready to talk about Samantha and Melissa now." Pearl said. Erik put down his cup. He turned to look at her and said, "Where shall I begin, then?"
