"Workout plan, huh?" Jimmy mumbled as he looked towards his smartphone.
"What? You got something in your mind?" Santa asked.
"Kinda, yea. You see, I got this phone in my app with a thirty day workout plan. No kidding, it's super effective. I tried it myself and lost almost ten kilos in weight. However, I didn't realize it when I actually weighed myself in and thought that it was a farce and stopped doing it altogether. Never had a chance to try it again. Now that we are planning to do a workout, why not try it?" Jimmy picked up his phone and showed the routine to Santa.
"Hmm, looks pretty good. You can increase the difficulty after thirty days as well. This will work—totally work!" Santa spoke in an enthusiastic tone.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Jimmy asked.
"For me to wear my workout outfit." Santa replied.
"Shoot, I should do that as well. Doing it in pajamas won't be that comfortable." Jimmy replied.
"Anyway, good thing that you didn't eat anything yet. Or else you would've had a difficult time doing these kinds of workouts." Santa spoke in a relieved tone.
"Yea, go change then." Jimmy waved his hands goodbye as Santa jumped back into the chimney.
A few minutes later, both rejoined in the living room and started working out like crazy. There were some points that one went down exhausted, but the other would drag him up and make him do more. However, in the end when both collapsed in sync, they decided that it was enough for the day and chose to relax.
"Oh, my! What an intense workout!" Santa sighed as he crashed near the bed.
"Well, this would be child's play for a normal person." Jimmy sighed as he crashed beside Santa.
"I see. I hope that it'll be a child's play of a workout when we look back into it in a few months' time." Santa said, dawning an optimistic smile.
"Sure do hope so." Jimmy chimed in for it as well. He was ready to change himself this time around. Not for someone else; just for his own personal gain.
"Umm, do you feel like we're forgetting something?" Santa looked around, not knowing what he was looking for.
"What do you—oh, my God! I'm late for work!" Jimmy tried jumping up, but his legs gave out and thus plopped back to the ground.
"Ah, maybe you should take it slow today. Head to work a little late." Santa suggested.
"Ha, it's like my second day to work and I'm already running late. Nice!" Jimmy sighed as he laid on his back.
"Well, at least you had a satisfying workout!" Santa replied as a form of consolation.
"That I did." Jimmy nodded his head in agreement.

Jimmy headed to the X-mall by eleven, which irked the boss off. It was as he worried. A newly acquired employee running amok on the very second day wasn't something that they forgive so easily. Thus, the boss was about to cut down the salary and make him an example before the people. However, Jimmy promised that he'd do double the work for the time that he missed. The boss thought of it and allowed Jimmy to go scot-free just this once.
And Jimmy actually went by his word. He was running around doing all sorts of work in the mall and the boss was seriously impressed by this. By the time Piers came for his shift, he saw the shell of a man in Jimmy. He was out cold and was basically a dead man walking at that point.
However, he never gave up; not until his shift was actually done with. That's when he plopped into the ground harder than in the morning when he worked out. To him, this was even harder than the workout session.
With that, Jimmy thought of abandoning his workout plans and focus on his job. However, he was then reminded of the talks that he had with Santa about bettering himself and stuff, so he wasn't that ready to give up just yet.
"Here you go!" Someone walked up to him and gave him a bottle of water. He looked up to see who that was. It was Piers.
"Ah, thanks!" Jimmy took the water from Piers and tried drinking it laying down. However, once he choked on it, he decided to get up and drink normally.
"You seem tired." Piers spoke, trying to spark a conversation of sorts.
"You think?" Jimmy replied in a sassy tone as he continued gobbling up the water.
"What happened? Why did you work yourself out?" Piers asked.
"Well, I kinda came late for work today. Boss was about to cut down my paycheck. So, I told him that I would work hard. And that I did." He replied.
"Why did you come late then?" Piers asked.
"Okay, first of all, you never did wake me up. If you're heading to school, you're supposed to wake me up. How else would I know the time?" Jimmy sounded frustrated as he spoke.
"Well, I thought you needed a bit more rest." Piers sounded sad. His eyes were filled with tears as well.
"Look, you aren't wrong about that. But at least a heads up would be nice. Okay? So, do that from the next time. I'm not blaming you or anything. Just a simple advice." Jimmy said in a soft tone, so that Piers won't end up crying.
"Okay, I will do that!" Piers nodded his head as he wiped off the tears. "So, you woke up late and got late for work, huh?" He asked.
"Not really. I woke up in time." Jimmy replied.
"Then?"
"I ended up talking to Santa." He answered.
"Hmm, that got you late, huh?" Piers asked again.
"Meh, I would say no." Jimmy shrugged.
"Then, what happened? Are you gonna give me a clear answer or not?" Piers looked frustrated because Jimmy seemed to be dodging his question one way or the other.
"Okay. I'll make it short. Santa… He came to our home." Jimmy answered.
"What?" Piers looked dumbfounded as he heard Jimmy's answer.
