CHAPTER 27: Don't Mind The Details

"I'm back," she called out as she stepped inside the main door.

*THUD THUD THUD*

She heard someone running right after calling out and just as she peeked through the corner where the sound was coming from.

Someone jumped on her and gave her a tight hug.

"Oh I miss you so much."

"Calm down mother. I am quite fine, stop crying so much," she hugged her mother back.

She was already crying when she jumped to hug her.

"But of course, I miss you so so much as well," she added after a while.

"I am glad that you came back in one piece," her father walked over and said as well.

"Then would you be even happier if I came back with some extra?" she asked back.

Her mother let her go and her father hugged her instead.

"So how many are we in this family right now?" she asked after her father let her go.

"There are the three of us, the rest returned to our old kingdom. Your aunts and uncles, and some of your cousins," her father was the one who answered.

"Oh these two, why don't you start going down to business once we have settled and were already done eating. I know you haven't eaten anything proper while on your way here."

Her mother stopped her from speaking more and pulled her towards the dining area.

Her father took her bags as well.

"Oh so we really have no one now?" she asked him when he took it from her.

"Nah, we still have three kitchen staffs and two other servants but they are currently too busy with other stuffs," her father replied.

"Hmmm I am amazed they stayed," she answered just as they get to the dining area.

After smelling the dishes served she smiled widely, "My favorites."

Her parents laughed, "Yes we know you would have missed them so much that we went to market early this morning just to get all the ingredients."

She happily thanked them and sat down.

Despite hearing them say that they were the ones who went to the market, she was no longer shock.

They are close to being in poverty when it comes to man power.

They still have the money of course but the man power is what they are lacking.

"Come to think of it, they didn't made it hard for you?" she asked after eating a mouthful of food.

"Well, our family isn't too little that they can do that to us even though most of our servants have left," her father replied.

He was a captain of the soldiers and still has some power.

And their family still has the power of being the family host of one of the mythological beasts.

So even if people were to mock them they can't do so in an overboard manner.

After all Fiamma family was still a strong family to look up to.

And that the whole Empire needed their strength to keep going.

"But I can see that it wasn't as fresh as it should have," she still commented.

"Don't mind the details," her father replied.

"Carmilla did her best to cover that up, you actually still could tell," he added.

Carmilla Fiamma, daughter of a count.

She had golden hair with golden yellow eyes.

She has no ability but her beauty is what bewitched a lot of people.

Her hair and eye color are very rare color in the Empire that she had a long line of suitors as a young lady.

In the end, the red orange haired captain who was known to be a playboy, was still the one who got her heart.

Admittedly Archie Fiamma was a reknowned playboy back then.

Having girls in both his arms whenever they are over with a mission.

But he was a serious man when he is focused on his missions.

It was one of this mission, where Carmilla was involved that she saw another side of him.

The one that was not the playboy who she always see at the center of a group of ladies.

It was about kidnapping cases where Carmilla was also taken.

Archie was the one who spear headed the mission and they were able to complete it without any difficulties.

Carmilla was chosen to be one of the best sells they will have and she was taken into a separate room.

Archie was the one who saved her and that was the beginning of it.

She started wanting to know him more.

And so she did, their family was known as information collector that gaining information about him wasn't too hard but it wasn't easy as well.

After all, he was still a part of one of the seven mythological families.

In a way, they are still royalty that not anyone can just look into them.

She had to get the help from their best informants in order to make sure that they won't make an error in getting the right information.

That's why she was the only one who knew that he was not truly a playboy.

That all those ladies by his side were but a shield to stop those who are seriously considering him as a marriage candidate.

He was focused on his missions and his family that he'd rather have a bad reputation than be bothered even during their training.

When Carmilla found out about this, Archie also found out that he was being checked.

(Flashback)

Archie Fiamma, who was known as the most playboy of Leonis Kingdom, visited the house of Carmilla Blackbourne, one of the most wanted young lady of Leonis Kingdom.

This news spread all over the kingdom and speculations erupted but the two parties involved remained tight lipped of what had happened.

But what happened was far from speculations of Archie confessing his love for her.

It was the complete opposite.

"You checked on me," Archie seriously told her.

His orange brows were furrowed while his orange eyes were looking at her with all seriousness.

It no longer have the playfulness everyone always see on him.

Carmilla didn't deny and stared straight at him, "I have indeed."

"Why?"

"I want to know just who is it that saved me and who was it that was known as the playboy of the kingdom," she replied without backing down.

He raised an eyebrow.

His demeanor was very far whenever he was outside.

"If you have looked into me then you should know what I hate the most."
