CHAPTER 97: But How Did She Know?

In reality, even though Saphira had her eyes closed and seemed liek she was sleeping, she was actually doing a different kind of scouting.

The reasonw hy she chose this tree, the tallest among the forest.

'It seems another troublesome on is within the waters, no wonder the demonic beasts there are the most in number,' she then said.

'Since you already know, then just go and attack it. Then everything is done,' Vermilion Bird commented.

'It seems that lonmg slumber caused your brain to deteriorate,' she replied.

'Deter-!! How rude of you to speak such words to a mythological beast,' Vermilion Bird instantly rebuked.

'If you are then why don't you think of your affinity?' Saphira scoffed.

'I am not referring to you going alone. I am talking about you and the rest, don't make me look stupid,' he couldn't help but to still answer back.

Saphira sighed, 'Are you really listening to yourself? Only one of us is capable in water battle at a long period of time. With the water as its main territory, do you think we can still fight properly? I really am wondering where the mythological beast's brain flew to.'

Before Vermilion Bird could answer back, she continued.

'Basing it on its dark energy, that is a humungous jellyfish. Even if we are to battle in water, with just a bit of its electric attack, we would already be injured. That is a giant, basically its attacke has a wide range as well.'

Vermilion Bird was silent before he changed the topic seeing as he really didn't thought much about it.

He was too lazy to think that is why he made such a mistake, okay?

'This is just one part of the kingdom, if it is already this troublesome, then what about the other parts?'

'Shouldn't you be happy? This is a chance for your grand appearance,' Saphira teased.

Vermilion Bird harrumphed, "I hate water, I don't need to appear.'

'Who was it that said that I should finish job already since I know where the main beast is?' she teased him.

'...'

Saphira chuckled before opening her eyes, the moment she did, those who are looking at her instantly turned away.

She didn't bother with them and instead jumped off the tree and walked to the tent where Ridge was doing his experiment.

She pulled out her sword and walked in, without ceremony she pierced it through the body of the demonic crocodile that she and the rest brought back.

It was in a table behind ridge and was ready tump at him.

Ridge looked back in shock when he heard the movement.

"Stop losing track of your surrounding when you are doing your experiments," Saphira berated him, wiping her sword clean.

"Oh," was the only reaction he could give just as his purple eyes returned to normal.

A while ago, it took the shape of the eyes of the snake and scales surrounded it.

What he had just used was 'Union', a time where the capability of the beast could be used by the host through their own body.

He had just undid it.

Seeing that Saphira sighed, "You two, should not let your guard down whenever you are so into your experiments."

"I'm sorry, we will keep that in mind," Ridge replied.

Saphira was talking about him and Basilisk.

If Saphira and Vermilion Bird had the same trait of laziness, these two have the same trait as being too absorbed in their experiements.

She knew that Ridge isn't always that careless, most of all Basilisk, but when enjoying something and all your attention was on it, they really would lose track of everything.

What Ridge was using a while ago was the eyes of Basilisk to discern whether a poison is effective or not.

"Continue what you are doing, there is no more life in any of these beasts."

After saying that, she stepped out.

Ridge shrugged and was about to continue what he was doing when he stopped after realizing something.

"Did she come in just to kill that?" he asked Basilisk.

'That seems to be the case,' Basilisk replied.

"But the beast seemed to have started moving just as she came in. It doesn't seem like she was here for long either," Ridge furrowed his brows.

'Just focus on what she had asked you to do,' Basilisk reminded him.

But he too was bewildered by Saphira's actions.

Ridge's words were the same as his thoughts.

Like Saphira came in knowing that the beast was still alive.

But how did she know?

'Where are you going now?' Vermilion Bird became curious when she walked towards a different location.

A place that they didn't go to a while ago.

'Scouting, I have already seen it in a different perspective. It is time to walk through it,' she replied.

She knew Drake and Hunter went on anotehr side, so she went on another place as well.

They are scouting the place as a whole.

'That beast is on this side right?' Vermilion Bird asked her.

'You really did become talkative as compared to when we first met,' she replied instead.

Vermilion Bird's lips twtched, he was making a serious conversation but she just have to keep on dampening it.

'I need to check the north eastern side of this kingdom once we are done here,' Saphira finally spoke what was on her mind.

'Is it because it is the closest side of this kingdom to that island?' he asked.

'If such a monster is already on this side, then what do you think could be on that side?' she commented.

She released another sigh as she can feel that some knights had actually followed her.

They were the most curious ones.

Because they knew that the host of Vermilion Bird was dead.

And was currently wondering why she was the commander.

They have seen her reprimanding her subordinates and saw her commanding the rest.

But the crown prince was with her so why is it that she was teh commander?
