CHAPTER 126: It Was The Most Scary One

When he get there he found that Stormie was already there as well.

"Yo, long time no see. Or so it seems," he greeted her.

Stormie smiled, "It does feel that way though."

Both gave each other a high five.

"I can feel that even though it's just two months, you have already improved so much," Stormie complimented.

"Same goes for you. It seems we were much more serious now than we were before," Nixon replied.

Even they themselves could actually feel the changes in each of them.

Though somehow they were also feeling bad because, if they really tried harder on those eight years then their strength would have been more than now.

"But we still have more to improve," he added.

"Hoho, aren't you mature now? Even though it's just been two months," Stormie teased.

"Says the one who only grow in strength but..."

Stormie puffed her cheeks understanding perfectly just what it was he was referring to.

Nixon laughed, admittedly the past two months felt so long for him.

The eight years was shorter because there are people who was with him.

But this time he was alone, he could feel the loneliness.

Stormie seeing him laugh couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Did you miss each other so much that now both of you couldn't get your eyes off one another?"

They stopped laughing when they heard that venomous tongue.

When they looked to the side, Vermilion Bird was flying on their eye level, looking at them as if they were a show.

"V- VERMILION BIRD, SIR!!" Nixon ended up shouting.

Vermilion Bird frowned as he flew back.

"Do you want me to burn you alive?" he instantly reminded.

"I'm sorry."

"If you want to play date then stop blocking the door," Vermilion Bird rolled his eyes and said.

He came from the outside but when he returned here, these two were standing by the door. How was he supposed to enter then?

The two of them rushed to the side, allowing him to enter first before they followed.

Vermilion Bird glanced at them when he stepped in and noticed that the changes in them wasn't small at all.

"I want a hot bath," he spoke to Nixon.

"Huh? Ah yes, sir."

He was about to rush out.

"Where are you going?" Vermilion Bird spoke up.

"In the bathroom sir, to prepare your... bath..."

Nixon wanted to slap his own face.

He realized too late what Vermilion Bird wanted.

Vermilion Bird just stared at him.

"H- Here you go, sir," Nixon said.

He created a water bubble, a size where Vermilion Bird's current form would fit in.

He placed it on the table and the steam coming from it was enough to say that it was indeed hot.

If they didn't know better, they would have thought that they saw him smile even just for a second.

But because it was just a second, it would be too presumptuous of them to think that way.

But he and Stormie was right, a smile indeed appeared in Vermilion Bird's face.

It was because of how fast Nixon created that hot bubble.

The temperature was high enough as well.

Which mean his control was better than Vermilion Bird had expected.

"I need a warm one."

"Here..."

"A cold one."

"He-"

"An ice cold one."

"Thi-"

"A hot one."

"..."

Nixon wanted to cry, was Vermilion Bird bullying him right now?

Why must he ask for different temperature of hot bath?

But Stormie was thinking differently.

It was two months ago that Nixon had no care about the temperature of the water.

For him to produce them so easily and without a miss on the temperature that Vermilion Bird wanted, she was truly amazed.

"Hey Roc's brat."

She snapped out of her amazement when Vermilion Bird called her.

"Yes, sir."

"Fly with me, together with him."

He pointed Nixon withhis wing.

The three of them stepped out and Vermilion Bird flew up.

Stormie followed right after while giving Nixon a wind wing.

It was transparent but the skeletal look was still visible.

Nixon was too shocked at what was going on that by the time he realized it, he was already high above the ground.

Vermilion Bird glanced at his wings and nodded in silence.

"I'll fire some fireballs towards that direction, I want you to make it reach the tallest tree in the distance. I presume you can see it."

When Stormie looked, the tree he wa referring to was about one kilometer away.

Without signal Vermilion Bird fired the fireballs.

Stormie followed suit and used her wind to increase the speed and the power of the fire.

As it flew, Vermilion Bird once again glanced at Nixon.

Until the tree caught fire, Nixon remained flying behind them still too shock to see that he was too high.

"Let's go down."

Without another word, Vermilion Bird flew back to the ground.

"You look happy," Qirin commented.

They noticed teh commotion and returned there.

"What are you talking about?" Vermilion bird replied before entering the house.

'It seems their training wasn't for a naught either,' Qirin thought as Nixon and Stormie came down and sat on the ground.

"I really felt like crying now. I just want to check on Saphira but sir Vermilion Bird suddenly made us do so many things," Stormie said.

Her fear for Vermilion Bird was still there.

Fear for his words that is.

"Don't be too scared, both of you just passed his test," Ridge spoke up.

He came out after hearing the commotion as well.

"What do you mean?" Nixon asked him.

"Well, it seems he took it to himself to test all of us for Saphira. He would make us do things regarding our training. If we pass, he won't say a word. If we fail... Well, I guess you already know what will happen," Ridge explained shaking his head.

The times that he was tested, was of Vermilion Bird flying around him while he must attack the other.

He was called slow a lot of times and was called names pertaining to being slow.

It was the most scary one.
