Chester cursed when he realized that he was already at a disadvanatge even with all the demonic beasts.
He went all out at the beginning and underestimated his opponents towards the end.
Now with Willow out of the illusion, his winning rate had dropped drastically.
He might even die, so it is better for him to escape.
He used his mist to obstruct Willow and was prepared to use another illusion to hide himself before escaping when the moment they were enshrouded with his own mist.
Something else have pierced through his heart.
Looking down it was a sword.
A sword that has a golden glow in it.
He coughed up some black blood.
"You've played more than enough."
He slowly turned his head to find himself staring at a pair of golden red eyes.
"You... This power..."
He can feel his own life force slowly disappearing from his body.
This is ridiculous, they will never die even with their hearts pierced so why?
Why was he dying?
He was supposed to be one of the strongest.
One of thiose leading the darkness.
'There is one power that can devour darkness and at the same time, darkness could devour. The more you devour the stronger it'll become.'
He remembered the words of the one leading them.
They had said that it was the case for these two opposing powers.
To devour or to be devoured.
'It must be this power...' he thought as he tried to move only to be rendered immobile by a chain of red fire.
He was caught off guard and now his life was slipping away.
When the mist finally dissipated, everyone was shock to see what was going on.
Willow turned agape.
The one who was supposed to still be enclosed in the cocoon was now standing right in front of them.
Floating in air with her sword pierced through Chester's heart.
And Chester was obviously close to dying.
Saphira pulled out the sword and black mist rushed out of Chester's body.
This black mist gathered above them and another past was shown.
It was of Chester gritting his teetha s he watched Raynisha and Ardel being together.
His hands were clenched into fists and he was repeatedly muttering of hos much he hated Ardel for taking away the one that he loves.
They were childhood friends.
He and Raynisha had been together far longer than him and her.
But he just have to get in the picture perfect of their future together.
If he didn't appear then Raynihsa will surely be his.
Chester's girldfriend.
Saphira laughed out loud.
Their condition weren't something for someone to suddenly laugh.
There are still demonic beasts needed to be killed but she just have to do it.
"Yours?"
She looked down at Chester, who was now lying on the ground, close to breath his last.
"She will never be yours, because that heart of yours had been black all along. Do you think she didn't know? That you harbored feelings for her?"
Chester stared at her.
"She knew but the once innocent childhood friend of hers were no longer there. You harbored evil intentions towards Ardel and other people. Might be because you became friends with Samuel and Flora."
Saphira knew that Chester wasn't the type of person she had witnessed when she was young.
Raynisha had told her about her friend.
A friend she misses dearly and the way raynisha would looka t Chester, Saphira knew it was him.
raynisha was referring to him.
"I pity you," Saphira spoke in a melancholic voice.
"If you just properly looked, you would realize just how important you are to her. But you chose a different path, you chose to let go of her hand..."
"I... didn't she left me first."
though with great difficulty, Chester still tried his best to rebuke her.
Saphira shook her head, "You did, if you didn't listen to their words. If you uphold your own justice, you would realize that you were the one who was ion the wrong all along."
She squatted beside him, "There are things we want to have no matter what. But there are times we have to choose properly. We can't have everything in this world. No matter how much we want it but there are ways where we can be happy even if they are not ours and we could only stay by their side."
Willow bit her lower lip, somehow these words hits her hard in the heart.
"Someone close to me, close to us, did just that. She didn't ask for anything grand. She just wished to be there and support him. But even that went overboard, she had lost sight of herself. But unlike you..."
Willow bowed her head.
No wonder it gave her a strong hit, Saphira was actually referring to her.
"She didn't blame it to anyone. Instead she strove to become better, to look for herself. And now I can clearly tell with great confidence that she was even more beautiful that she ever was."
Chester remained staring at her.
"She didn't lose anything, instead she gained more. She gained love and respect towards her person."
Chester sighed.
He didn't say another word but instead he simply closed his eyes, succumbing to his eternal slumber.
Meanwhile...
Flora was suddenly hit by a strong aura.
"Wha- What happened?" she asked the one beside her.
"He died," he laughed.
He laughed evilly and coldly.
"To think they would be able to kill one of you whom I had painstakenly strengthened to deal with them..."
His face were enshrouded by darkness but his eyes were filled with coldness.
"It must have been that power. Just as I thought, it will appear."
He walked over to where Raynisha and another person stood.
"We will now commence our next plan. We have assessed the condition it is time to get to the next step."
Raynisha acknowledge before leaving.
"Flora, check on Samuel, he should be close to being fully healed I need him to give help to the rest."
Flora seductively smiled before leaving for the room where Samuel stayed.
