CHAPTER 179: Also Staking Their Lives

Beasts and hosts alike were all exhausted that it didn't only took them a day to rest but actually took three days before one by one they have woken up from their slumber.

The first to wake up was Felix, he may have been battered but what Saphira did to heal him allowed him to wake up invigorated after three days of sleep.

He looked around and found that he was back in the castle and the rest were with them.

He stood up and walked to where Stormie was sleeping, seeing as she was sleeping peacefully he heaved a sigh of relief.

If she was still under the illusion even if they were able to get them from the mist, they wouldn't have such a peaceful look.

Instead they would surely be pale and would look as if they were suffering.

"Hoho, it seems a change has happened."

He jumped at the voice and when he turned around, he saw Saphira coming in from the door.

It seems that he was not the one who really woke up first but instead it was Saphira.

Saphira had actually woken up the night before and she went for a walk early this morning.

Upon returning she watched Felix walked towards the side of the girls in the room and went straight for Stormie's bed.

She raised an eyebrow as she watched what he was doing.

Seeing as he heaved a sigh of relief she instantly understood what was going on.

"S- Sa-"

Saphira raised her hand and placed a finger on her lips.

She gestured that they should probably talk outside.

The rest were still sleeping, as long as they don't wake up themselves, she has no desire to disturb their rest.

She wasn't there all through out the battle and only got a gist of what had happened through Kayleb and the rest.

Felix dejectedly followed her as if he was caught red handed.

"So?"

Saphira asked the moment they stepped out.

Felix looked at her as if asking what she wants to know.

"Since when? Could it be a love at first sight? Or a love at first fight?"

Felix almost pouted at the way she used her words, forgetting how badly he had treated them that love at first sight and love at first fight would not be possible at all.

"Gradually," was all he could say.

He felt like he was speaking with Stormie's parent instead of friend.

Saphira laughed at the way he behaved.

"Calm down, I am not here to interrogate you or anything, instead I was just curious. I didn't expect that when I get back from a morning walk, I would actually witness such a sweet thing."

She was teasing him!!!

She was seriously teasing him!!!

Why didn't he realize that one bed was empty back then?

No that was not right.

Saphira had no bed.

How could he have known where Saphira could have slept?

Saphira laughed again seeing his aggrieved look.

"Well, all of us are grown ups. I was just amused seeing a turn of event that is far different than what we were facing as of this moment."

She was referring to their focus on their mission.

Because even with consent, she and Hunter haven't really done or spoke anything regarding other matter.

They would brush on the topic but they never linger on it or seriously took time to actually speak about this.

"Have you told her?" she asked again.

Felix ended up turning red at her question.

"I have just became sure of it, how can I suddenly confess?"

He didn't bother saying that they spent so little time because time does not matter, isn't that why there was such a thing as love at first sight?

"Chill, I was just asking," she raised both hands and spoke.

She was curious but she has no desire to actually poke her nose into their matter.

"Well, you all grew up together. Do you think..."

Saphira raised an eyebrow upon hearing him ask her in a shy manner.

"I can never tell..."

Felix looked at her when she spoke in a serious manner.

"These are your hearts, your lives. If one were to fall in love the other may not. If both of you fall in love, it is both your decisions. There are so many consequences especially since what you are staking here is your heart."

One would be muddle headed when one's emotion was involved.

In a fight, they may end up in anger and attack relentlessly if they are to witness their beloved falling at the hands of their enemy.

As such, once one stakes their heart, they are also staking their life, especially to those in this line of work.

Where they are in missions much more dangerous than simply killing the demonic beasts.

"I can never put words in her mouth. The same as I don't want you to give any hope whether small or not. She and you are the only ones who can tell if there is something between you or will there be something between the two of you."

She smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Nevertheless, no matter what decision you two came up with, I know for a fact that just like me, everyone will support your decisions."

Felix smiled, "Thank you."

"So when did you realize that you like her? Or could it be that you had fallen for her and that is the reason why you have asked to join us? If so I shouldn't have threatened you, no? Of course, you would surely protect her."

Felix frowned at her seeing as she was back to her teasing look.

"Spare me," he could only surrender.

Saphira laughed before waving her hand.

She returned inside the room to get change before walking out to have something to eat.

For when everyone were to wake up, they will have a round of answer and question portion.

At the same time, it is just right that she had to inform the Reginald about this matter.
