CHAPTER 188: Did We Notice Something?

"And that's the history of your father's broken hearted journey to becoming a scumbag."

The others stiffled a laughter while her parents and Hunter's parents looked at them in an amused manner.

"That's why you and I almost became siblings," she added.

"What do you mean almost? You will never become siblings," Archie instantly argued.

"Well, father if mother never tried to make a move, would you have fallen in love with her?" she rebuked.

Archie was stomped for words, for the reality was just that.

The one who made the first move was Carmilla herself.

A knock soon came and Zian was being called by the higher ups of the empire.

"I guess it is time for me to do my duty. I shall take my leave now, your majesty," he bowed towards Reginald before stepping out of the room.

The rest excused themselves one after another as they know Saphira and Hunter will be speaking more with Reginald.

After speaking about everything, Carmilla and Archie's face were filled with worry.

"And that's the current events," Saphira ended.

Reginald sighed, "Well, all I can say is for you to be careful with that power. I know the rest will be protecting you unconditionally if time permits but you yourself must do your best to take care. They will surely target you."

Saphira smiled, just as how she can devour the darkness, darkness can devour her as well.

And the one who can devour her will surely receive an immense amount of power and the future will tunr bleak.

A much stronger darkness without its nemesis the light, how can people actually fight against that?

"I guess for now, we will delay the information. Alquira Empire is becoming more and more curious about the power that purified the land back then. They were curious just who could do it. Knowing this now, it is better for the people to slowly find out about it instead of announcing it. Especially since we still have no idea just what will be the darkness' nest movement."

Saphira and Hunter agreed.

Soon, the call ended and there was only the two of them left in the room.

"Saphira..."

"I really don't want to speak about it."

She knew he wanted to ask about the remaining secret that she was holding.

But she really has no desire of talking about it.

"And no, it is not only because of you guys but also because of me."

She smiled sadly at him.

Hunter sighed before rubbing her hair with his hand, "Fine, I did say that I will trust you adn be there with you no matter what. No matter what secret. Just make sure you won't end up being eaten away by it."

She nodded her head, "I will never allow it to eat me up no matter what."

He nodded, "I was born the royal but in the end it was still you who received so many responsibilities. No matter how much I wanted to support you, no matter how much I wanted to carry the burden with you. If it is too much even just to think about it then the support I could give is for me to be here always."

Saphira chuckled, "Yes, if one were closed off. Because it was too painful even if she were to speak just a word about it. Just knowing that there is one person out there, willing to stick with them even if they are clueless was of great help already. Great help emotionally and psychologically. That no matter how much you keep quiet, they will not leave you behind with the thought that you don't trust them at all."

She looked at him with a bright smile, "So always remember that I trust you no matter what I am keeping quiet about."

He smiled and rubbed her hair before standin up, "Let's go and see what we can do to help at the same time, the barrier you were plpanning. Since we are already here, we can begin at this empire."

She smiled and stood up, when she reached for the door, he called for her name.

"I swear, I can always stand in front of you to protect you. Stand beside you to support you and stand behind you to allow you to go all out without having to worry aboutb your back."

She stared at him stright in the eyes and after a few seconds of keeping quiet.

"I believe you."

*****

"What's going on?"

After coming out of the palace, Saphira and Hunter found Stormie and Nixon being at odds with one anotehr once again.

They were just gone for thirty minutes right?

Why does it seem like this fight is not the same as the usual ones?

"It is his fault, Ridge told us to train more our synergy but every single time things would go out of hand. He was not doing it properly," Stormie instantly complained while pointing at Nixon.

Nixon squinted his eyes before giving a harrumph and turning to leave.

"Wha-"

Stormie was completely speechless at the way he acted.

Not just her, but the others were shock as well.

Nixon wouldn't let go just like that, he would always fight back instead of just leaving, letting her say that everything was his fault.

Saphira looked at Ridge in bewilderment, it feels like Nixonw as seriously mad right now.

Not their normal cat and dog fight, but he seemed really out of it.

"What the hell was that all about?!?!"

Before Ridge could say anything, Stormie stomped her foot on the ground in irritattion.

She was used at him rebuking her words or arguing back.

But with him simply leaving, she felt like everythingw as seriously her fault.

But he was the one who was so out of it and not her.

"Okay calm down, why don't we go train our swords instead?" Willow pulled her along to calm her down.

"Why don't the two of you train as well?" Saphira told Drake and Felix.

Both of them agreed but curiosity was visible in their faces.

"Is it just me or did we notice something?"

After knowing that no one was left other than the three of them, Saphira asked Ridge.
