CHAPTER 224: He Chose To Stay

She propped her head on one hand before smiling at him.

"It is your decision, what ever it may be I think the rest will support you. But the way you handled it is really something else. Though what will you do once everything is over?"

Drake thought for a bit, "Then I will find my own happiness. If she finds hers now, I would be happy for her. I won't try to stop it when I myself knows that I can't give her that yet."

She chuckled, "Just like what you have said, mature indeed but he looks so sad, ready to cry right now."

She was speaking to Hunter this time.

"I am no-"

Saphira looked at him sharply and pointed her finger at him, stopping him from what he was saying.

"You can't deceive me," she started.

She opened another bottle to drink.

"I loved hiding so many sad things, that I can tell when someone was close to crying or when someone is truly sad. I am hiding something so devastating after all."

Drake was stunned before he slowly turned to Hunter.

"It seems she's drunk," Hunter replied.

But he didn't stop Saphira from drinking more.

She looks like she needed it right now.

What she said towards Drake a while ago was the truth, she had invited him for a drink and then they saw Drake on his own.

Hunter himself was only on his third bottle.

"When you're sad then cry, you have no idea how difficult it is when you can't even do it. Just cry it out, bring it out. DOn't bottle it in, you will seriously have some mental adn psychological difficulties because of that."

She sighed and finished her fifth bottle.

"I think I am not too hurt to actually cry," Drake responded.

Saphira smiled, "Oh, then that's good. You can keep going, that's great."

She went silent and drank more, Drake and Hunter shook their heads and simply drank beside her.

After finishing her seventh, she leaned forward and placed her chin on her arms that are crossed on top of the table.

"I wished sincerely that all of you will have that happy life. Without pain or hatred, without the traumas and sadness. But life is just that difficult. Even that little wish could not be fulfilled."

Her eyes turned droopy, "We will face more pain and hardship. And we haev no choice but to face them. I just wish all of you will be strong enough to handle everything without losing the you right now."

After finishing her sentence, she had fallen asleep.

"I didn't expect to see such a weak her."

Hunter and Drake turned to see the rest have already returned and the one who spoke was Ridge.

"Until the end, her wish was for all of us," Stormie sighed.

Hunter brushed her hair that had fallen on her face.

"Since childhood, that had been her wish. Not for herself but for the others," he commented.

"Since when have you been there?" Drake asked them.

"We chanced upon one another at the entrance, upon coming here we heard her little speech," Nixon replied.

Drake nodded, at the very least they didn't hear the things before that.

"I'll bring her up," Hunter said carrying Saphira.

"Be happy all of you..."

As he did, Saphira opened her eyes, chuckled before falling asleep once again.

They couldn't help but laugh.

*****

The next day, Saphira was having a major headache.

Stormie tried to wake her up but she received a sharp look instead.

She run away instantly and called for Hunter.

"Who told you to drink so much the day before?" he asked her exasperated.

"You din't stop me!!" she complained.

"Would you have stopped if I told you to stop?"

"No!!!"

Hunter stopped himself from rolling his eyes.

"Go down now, we asked teh cafeteria to prepare a hangover soup for you. It was a good thing you already said your goodbyes to the royal family."

She had went alone with a simple reason.

'That woman loves staring at you, do you want that as well?'

That was what she said when he told her he'd join her.

Seeing her look, he can tell she was adamant on not letting him join her and if he were to insist, she would instantly say that he wants to be stareed at.

There really are times where Saphira would actually become so unreasonable.

And with that he chose to stay.

"Come on now, get up," he pulled her by the hand.

Saphira suddenly raised both of her arms.

He frowned looking at them.

"Piggyback," she giggled.

"Are you still drunk?" he asked.

"Piggyback," she didn't answer but insisted.

Hunter sighed, he turned and squatted.

Saphira grinned and wrapped ehr arms around his neck.

The rest were stupefied upon seeing the two of them.

"Seems, the alcohol haven't let her system yet," Hunter explained.

He went over to a chair and let her sit there before he asked for the soup.

It was a chair with a window beside, Saphira looked out and sighed.

"What is it this time?" Hunter asked hearing her sigh.

"Moving around is tiring," she pouted.

"Just drink your soup."

Hunter could only massage his temple.

She was playful and lazy but when she was serious, people would forget about it.

Who would have thought that when drunk it would actually be even more obvious.

"It's quite refreshing seeing her like this," Felix couldn't help but comment.

He received her harsh training and was subjected to so much, he couldn't help but find this amusing.

"If it were you who went up first to wake her up, youw ouldn't be able to say that," Stormie complained.

Saphira's sharp eyes were seriously the most terrifying, expecially when she was groggy.

The rest laughed and soon they departed bidding those they became acquainted with goodbye.

All of them other than Saphira, who returned to sleep at hunter's back.
