CHAPTER 251: The Same Position As You

"Your decision could have caused more than just your life. So why have you come back?"

Elizabeth wanted to say that it was because she was worried about Hunter after hearing so many explosions that she had chosen to return.

But under Saphira's scrutinizing look, she knew speaking of such will only incur more of her anger.

"You were given a task and that is to simply wait from a distance. Someone who is not capable of fighting suddenly rushing in here, what are you trying to accomplish?"

Elizabeth lowered her head.

"Don't lower your head and look at me," Saphira said in a stern voice.

Elizabeth had no choice but to follow her.

"Do you understand what you have done?"

Elizabeth slowly nodded her head.

"We are strong but that doesn't mean we are invincible, if you desire to protect him then you should know where you should stand and that is not in the battle ground."

Some of the escorts wanted to rebuke her but they couldn't because her words were all the truth.

If one who can't fight would really want to help then all the more reason for them to stay away and be safe. Because that will give those who are fighting the peace of mind that they will be fine.

But Elizabeth had actually rushed back without thought.

If her family was here, she would be reprimanded as well.

This was unbecoming of a princess.

Saphira waved her hand seeing that Elizabeth was truly remorseful.

The pressure stopping Elizabeth's subordinates was finally lifted.

They wanted to rush to her but they felt weak due to the strength applied to it.

"I don't care if you are protective of her but the way she acted a while ago could have caused more than just your lives. If you want to spoil her then go on but I have no such desire. I won't let anyone, no matter who, put the lives of my unit in danger."

After speaking she walked away leaving only a few words, "I'll scout the area."

Ridge and the rest wanted to speak but her aura tells them that she didn't want them to disturb her or for them to do anything.

"Let's just rest," Willow sighed.

Even they were angered by the arrival of Elizabeth, they didn't bother looking at her.

"I'll go and take a look," Nixon still said.

No one stopped him but Hunter was curious, though he didn't ask anything, he only felt that their demeanor was a bit amiss.

Elizabeth looked like an abandoned puppy beside him with the way she was bowing and her hands were even clasped together.

"Let's go and rest," he gestured for her.

But as they walked back, he couldn't help but to glance back to where Saphira walked to.

He needs to speak with her, he needs to understand just what it is that was going on between them.

"Do you love her Hunter?"

He returned his eyes on Elizabeth when he heard her question.

"The way you looked at her," she added.

Hunter chose not to reply.

Not once did he tell her so why must he tell it first to someone else?

Even though this is Hunter's mindset he was still unable to see the most important thing about the one that you love, that they too could get jealous, especially when it was already known that the feelings were mutual.

Elizabeth couldn't get an answer and so she still tried her best to think that she still has a chance with the kindness he was showing her.

*****

"I already told you, there is nothing you can do about this."

Nixon almost gasped when he saw all the blood on the bandage on Saphira's back.

It was haphazardly placed telling him that she tried to rush it in order to face them a while ago.

"Why didn't you tell him?" he asked as he turned around.

Saphira was removing the bandages meaning she was undressed.

He was still a man and it is inappropriate for him to see.

"Why bother? I'm tired, I just want to rest," she replied.

Nixon didn't answer, if Hunter were to find out about it, he wouldn't stop nagging her.

But then again this was partly his fault.

"Can't I really help you?" he asked again when the strong scent of blood permeated his nose.

That on itself tells him that her wound was truly deep.

"I'll follow you back, you should go ahead."

She didn't answer the question but her reply was already the same with a no.

Nixon sighed, "I thought about it. I knew I would get to the answer soon but let me ask this, am I in the same position as you?"

"..."

Nixon chuckled, "I see. I'll go ahead now."

After he left, Lily came out and helped Saphira in the bandages.

"The wound is really too much," Lily reacted.

Though she had seen it a while ago when they haphazardly helped her in order to hide it, seeing it for the second time does not remove the feeling of being pained for her.

"What exactly happened a while ago?" Vermilion Bird asked as he too came out.

When he turned a while ago, Saphira was already wounded but most didn't notice only her friends with the exemption of Hunter, who was busy with Elizabeth.

Saphira sighed, "I was careless. I had forgotten that we have someone we need to protect."

Vermilion Bird stared at her, "You should just tell him straight in the face. He seemed to have thrown his intelligence somewhere."

Saphira laughed.

"Hey, stop that, the wound is being pulled," Lily reprimanded her.

Saphira pursed her lips and simply looked up in the night sky filled with stars.

Lily very carefully helped her in her wounds.

"This body is seriously too bad," Saphira commented seeing as she was left with no other choice but to heal by herself.

"We can't have everything in this world," Lily replied with a tinge of nostalgia in her voice.

Saphira glanced back at her but didn't give her own comment.
