CHAPTER 253: This Is So Irritating

Now, as he watched her from afar and seeing how the rest were looking worried about her. At the same time, the pale looking face of the angered girl a while ago.

All of them kept replaying on his mind.

He was in too deep thought that he didn't notice her looking at his side even though he was looking at her.

She waved her hand at him before turning to leave.

His eyes instantly went wide and he had come to understand just why she was looking pale.

"Your back!!"

Her wrist was grabbed by him when he saw the blood.

"I'll rest, is that good enough? Let me go now, I'll mend it on my own," she pulled her hand away.

Seeing Elizabeth being so close to him, even his worry irritates her.

Hunter tried to stop her but she didn't bother slowing down her pace and left quickly.

He frowned, everything's starting to dawn on him when he saw her glance at Elizabeth.

How stupid was he?

He should have known from the start, yet he was blinded by his trauma and guilt of being unable to save that girl back then.

Even though he didn't truly realized it, he was overwhelmed by that familiar face to the point of not seeing what Saphira was going through.

He looked at the rest.

"Crown prince, we shall take our leave as well. If you don't know what is going on then we can only pity you."

It was Drake, who spoke, stood up followed by the rest.

For him to call Hunter, crown prince, meant that he himself was not approving of what Hunter was doing.

Even though he had shown so much hatred towards Saphira before, he was starting to have those same feelings as he did in the past towards Saphira.

She was one of his precious friends.

Other than him, the rest were feeling the same.

They remembered a scene a while ago, that is why they understood where she got that wound.

Hunter, who had always been behind her, was on Elizabeth's side because of the fact that she had suddenly returned.

And so they glanced at her with indifference and a bit of anger.

Saphira was wounded because of her, all of it was because of her.

But then, the person involved wasn't reacting about her own condition. She had reacted about the situation as a whole but not for herself, so how can they react as well?

"Please."

They stopped walking when they heard him.

He was using a begging voice, a voice not normally heard from him.

He had already realized what was going on, now he only wants to hear what had happened while he was being distracted by his own past.

"What happened?" he asked them.

He was focused on the fact that Elizabeth has returned and he didn't want to see that same face getting hurt.

Ridge gritted his teeth, he was someone who rarely gets this agitated outside of his experiments but right now, Saphira was once again suffering.

He was tired of seeing everyone suffering.

Especially, these six friends of his.

They were unable to protect someone because they were children.

He was traumatized by that making him so focused on his potions.

But Hunter was already losing his current self, he was focusing too much in the past.

They are no longer those powerless children, they can fight, they can protect.

Ridge was angered by the fact that it was Hunter's fault for giving Saphira all the assurance only to neglect everything in the end.

If he didn't do that then, Saphira wouldn't have trusted that he would be there and she wouldn't have let her guard down to a certain extent.

They were together a while ago, with how chaotic the battlefield was, the voice he listened to was Elizabeth's.

If he had just tried to call for Saphira to let her know that a certain someone had returned, then she would have been more alert.

"Why don't you track back on the promises you made? Staying beside her? Being behind her? Fighting in front of her? In the end, you couldn't uphold any of that. Aren't you a funny one right now? What is that woman to you anyway? She came out meek and weak and all. You were given the duty by our Emperor to protect her but then who are you supposed to protect more?"

The rest looked at Ridge in shock, he was someone who does not really like speaking this much.

Even Hunter was shock at this, he was used to the rest pointing things out to him from time to time.

But not Ridge.

"This is so irritating, just answer this crown prince. How did you lose sight of the one you love the most?"

Hunter was left with no rebuke.

Elizabeth can tell from their looks that they were blaming her that she could only lower her head.

She didn't know that Saphira had suffered such a wound.

She really didn't want that, sincerely didn't want that to happen.

"That woman is not Elise. And the one you should be protecting now, is hurt because you are trying to repay something about the past. Let me tell you this..."

Her eyes shifted, she had heard them talk about this Elise and that she resembles her but she paid it no mind.

The attention Hunter has on her was because of this Elise but she didn't care.

She had fallen for him and if he has feelings for this person.

And that he could possibly fall for her because of this dead person then she would gladly be the replacement.

But this time, she could only purse her lips.

Because the anger they all have was suffocating enough.

Admittedly she felt jealous, she has no memories and watching their interactions, she wanted it.

She wanted to be part of it.

But she can tell with their current attitude that this wishful thinking could no longer happen.

There is only one thing she still didn't want to let go…
