CHAPTER 259: I Will Gladly Drink It

The knights were all feeling as if they have done something so terrible at the way the seven of them cried.

Even Felix couldn't help his tears as the group showed a weakness no one has ever known.

The broadcast ended when she said the words of asking them to keep her words in their minds.

That they didn't witness this painful scene.

But it was fine, what the world saw was enough for them to know just how much they are asking.

It was a night filled with tears and pain.

It didn't take long before Saphira collapsed, she was still gravely injured after all.

At the same time, she just have to break down and cry a lot.

No one would stay awake with all that.

Their group decided to stay in one tent this time.

Because the pain they suffer, only they can understand one another.

The pain of sacrificng so much yet being asked for more.

They didn't want to meet anyone from this kingdom as of the moment.

And the knights of this kingdom, couldn't face them either.

Elizabeth locked herself in her own tent.

The jealousy she was feeling disappeared completely, instead she was filled with pain for their group and for Saphira.

"This is what you have been waiting for right?" Vermilion Bird asked Lily.

Lily nodded her head, "She still cannot fully use the power of light because there was still a barrier, a thin barrier surrounding her emotions."

"What was it?" Vermilion Bird asked her.

"The last words she heard all those years ago," she answered.

Vermilion Bird furrowed his brows before remembering it.

'Be strong Saphira. Be strong.'

"So she subconsciously stopped crying and acted all strong. And even though she wanted to, it became a psychological thing that she really couldn't cry anymore," Vermilion Bird commented.

"Yes, but when she finally accepted that she couldn't be as strong as what she thinks she should be. When she finally admitted that she was also weak, that barrier shattered and the emotions bottled within it came rushing out."

Lily sighed, if you still can't accept everything about yourself then the light ability wouldn't be able to manifest itself.

Saphira thought she had accepted it already, feeling pained and sadness.

Feeling anger and jealousy.

But she haven't fully accepted everything yet.

She was not as strong as she thought she was.

Vermilion Bird glanced up and saw the golden light surrounding Lily shinning even more.

"I have this strong feeling despite not remembering the one before her that Saphira was much better than her. That she was able to reach a point where her predecessor couldn't get the chance to be at," Light said in sadness.

"What do you mean by that?" Vermilion asked her.

Lily simply smiled not answering his question.

She has no recollection despite being the guardian of the ability but she has this strong feeling that Saphira was really much better.

After Willow and Stormie helped tend Saphira's wound, the seven of them remained silently sitting in that tent.

"I am apologizing to all of you. I was to blame for this. Before I speak with her, I really am apologizing to all of you."

Finally Hunter started.

"I was a jerk."

"I am amazed you actually knew," Ridge retorted.

He was still mad at him, especially after seeing Saphira cry when she haven't cried in the whole year that they were together.

Hunter pursed his lips.

"I am indeed, even after all of my threats towards you when we just reunited. I was an even more of a jerk right now."

Ridge harrumphed at his words.

"I can only say this now, I'll never make the same mistake again. I will not leave her alone again. And if I were to do so then I will be waiting for all of the hits you all will give me."

"You said it already yourself. We will surely not hold back in hitting you," Willow told him.

"Please do not," he answered.

Nixon sighed and patted Ridge on the shoulder.

Ridge clicked his tongue, "If there is indeed a second time, I will give you my deadliest poison."

"I will gladly drink it," Hunter answered.

He sighed and looked back at Saphira's sleeping face.

Her pale look hurt him even more.

He had been asking himself a question over and over again, what was he doing?

Seeing his determination and sincerity, Ridge finally sighed and let it go.

In the end, this is between him and Saphira. They are the only ones who can fix this up.

Though he was glad that Hunter was finally awake.

"Do you realize now what you put her through?" he asked Hunter.

Hunter sat down on the bed and carressed her cheek, "I have and I really don't know how to make up for it."

"We all are aware of the burdens she was carrying all this time, whether emotionally or mentally, and we all know that her greatest support is you. Just don't leave her again like that."

Ridge's words resounded not only within Hunter but the rest as well.

It became natural for them to leave everything to Saphira but they have forgotten that she could become weak as well.

And her words a while ago, hit them hard because she was begging the people to know that they have their own limits.

That she has her own limit.

"Though I guess one should be grateful towards this incident."

All of their attention was taken by Lily when she suddenly came out.

"Saphira was still lacking as the new holder of the light ability..."

Lily showed hesitation as she thought of something but soon she decided to tell it to them.

"She had not cried all this time after she had woken up from her coma, do you know why?"

All of them obviously has no answer to this, Saphira barely opens up to so many things after they reunited.

"Because of the last words she heard before she lost consciousness back on that island more than nine years ago."

They frowned, the last words?

"Be strong, Saphira. Be strong."
