Saphira was sent flying back by an explosion attack from Ardel.
Due to the miasma, it seemed to be an endless flight, until she hit the wall hard causing her to cough up blood.
She can barely sense anything with all the miasma and due to the fact that Lily was still away. She can only rely on her own senses but even that was proven difficult for when she just stood up, she had to parry an incoming sword attack from the side.
"You act so arrogantly a while ago, where is that arrogance now?" Ardel laughed before jumping back inside the miasma.
Saphira scoffed, "Look who's talking, hiding behind your miasma."
She jumped back when Ardel came in for another attack with both his sword and the darkness. To which she parried with her own fire and light ability, while swinging her sword in order to counter him and try to give him some damages as well.
To be honest with how difficult this battle is, she could not contact the rest and she was worried.
With all this miasma surrounding them, she who was already the host of the light ability was having difficulties. What more for them?
She is battling Ardel so it was obvious that the rest are battling Raynisha and her demonic beasts.
"Ugh."
She was hit hard in her body just as her mind wandered towards the rest.
Ardel didn't give her a chance to recover as he continued attacking from all sides.
*CLANG*
With difficulties she was able to parry another sword attack from him before kicking him with fire surrounding her legs.
A scratch appeared on Ardel's face and he smiled evilly, "You are barely keeping up."
"Who cares?" she declared wiping the blood on her mouth.
Yet she still coughed up more blood before kneeling down on the ground.
'Are you okay?'
Saphira heard Lily's voice.
'What about on your side?' she asked doing her best to remain alert.
She run ahead when she felt an attack coming from behind before turning in order to fight head on but Ardel kept using the miasma to cover himself up.
'I am starting now,' Lily replied.
'Goo, for I don't know just how long I can last.'
Not to be pessimistic but Saphira knew of her strength at the moment.
They entered the enemies lair so obviously they are at a disadvantage but letting the enemies out will also bring more disaster. That is why this is the best choice for them.
*CLANG*
"Go on and keep on running," Ardel laughed as he once again hid behind the miasma.
He was jumping in and out of the miasma without truly looking at her that he didn't realize something was slowly changing.
The more they confront one another, the more that Saphira was feeling it.
'This is...'
'You are the host, where do you think will all this absorbed power go if not towards you?' Lily replied.
The changes that Saphira slowly realized as she kept defending from Ardel's attacks.
If a while ago, she can barely keep up as time went by, this time she realized that she was parrying the attacks better.
She was able to locate his position as well allowing her to avoid getting endlessly battered up by him.
*CLANG*
"Wha-"
Ardel was stunned when the next time they countered one another, Saphira did not only defended but she was even prepared to attack him. A fire explosion occurred between the two of them at such a close distance, he ended up receiving damages.
Saphira breathed before smiling towards him, she even noticed how the miasma turned thinner. Something Ardel seemed to have not realized due to him being too enthusiastic in attacking Saphira.
She felt lighter and she can feel more and more power was pouring inside her.
'This must be what Raynisha was feeling a while ago,' she thought.
"I should probably thank you," she spoke as she dashed forward.
Ardel tried to blend with the darkness but it was for a naught, Saphira was following him just fine no matter how many times he tried to blend with the darkness. How can she not when the light ability inside her kept getting stronger by the minute.
Saphira's attack became heavier for Ardel, it was no longer a one-sided onslaught of attack but this time around the two of them are on par. Saphira was even inflicting more wounds on him.
Ardel was first baffled until he realized that not once did Saphira used the power of light as her main attacking force. Instead it had always been the fire ability that was incorporated with light, that she had been using.
And when he realized this, he also realized that the miasma surrounding them had thinned a lot.
"HOW DARE YOU!!!!" he shouted in anger.
Saphira smiled mockingly.
'I'll do it in one go now,' she heard Lily say.
'Just in time,' she replied.
Once her words ended that miasma moved in every direction, being sucked at multiple holes.
"NO!!!!" Ardel shouted.
He never heard of this.
He never heard of the light ability being capable of devouring the darkness. It had always been them converting darkness back to the light. But not like this, not in a way where it was being eaten by the light ability.
He had met a low of light ability users during his reign as a dark lord, before he became a soul.
"WHO ARE YOU!!!???"
Saphira could feel it pouring endlessly, it felt both light and heavy.
She spread her arms and enveloped herself in a small light bubble.
At this moment, she needed to focus on absorbing the increase in power of the light ability or else her body won't be able to handle it and she will explode.
Ardle rushed to her and started attacking her when he could reabsorb the miasma around them.
But the light bubble barrier was strong enough, it could actually stand his heavy attacks.
Seconds later, all the miasma in that floor disappeared. And the light that was surrounding Saphira exploded.
"DAMN IT!!!!"
