CHAPTER 363: Quite A Handsome One

Saphira coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Saphira!!!" Nathalia called out.

Worry was plastered on her face as she went over to Saphira.

Just as they have expected, the ones leading this world have taken a step forward and no longer held back in sending demonic beasts to their side.

Saphira laughed, "We really are like playthings to them."

"Why are you still laughing?" Nathalia berated as she hit another demonic beast coming their way.

They were able to last for a few weeks or so before Saphira showed signs of fatigue.

Nathalia is now a part of this world, so she wasn't as affected by the miasma as Saphira.

And even though they would try their best to hide, they were instantly found.

This proved what Saphira had just said, they were nothing but plaything to those who were reigning in this world.

"Hey, I had been wondering..."

Saphira wiped the blood on her lips.

Nathalia continued attacking in order for her to rest even for a bit.

During the time they had been fighting, Nathalia regained her strength in wielding swords.

"If there is a dark world, with the ability we have while we are in the human world? Shouldn't there also be a light world or something?"

Nathalia almost made a mistake in her attack with the way Saphira named another world.

She glared at her, Saphira grinned as she raised her hand showing fingers in a v sign.

But as compared to the time they started this journey, her complexion was a lot paler.

Nathalia gritted her teeth, "What of it? Them not appearing for all this time meant they didn't care."

"Or maybe just like how memories of you were wiped out after you were defeated in this world. There could be rules that they couldn't just defy. Or some circumstances they are involved with," Saphira replied.

"You really are quite optimistic, aren't you?" Nathalia couldn't help but say after hearing Saphira's words.

Saphira shrugged, "With so many things going on, being optimistic is a good way to continue living happily. I wonder what happened to the nemesis of the dark world?"

Nathalia shook her head at Saphira's small talk.

"But seeing this now, do you think we could still live?" Nathalia gestured towards the horde of demonic beasts rushing to them.

Saphira laughed, "Who knows. But well, at least this time, we will die without any regret as we fought our way around this encirclement in order to keep living."

As she finished, she brandished her sword and attacked.

Their pattern during these times was to make an opening in the direction they were going to and then run from these demonic beasts. Once they are once again placed in another encirclement they would do the same.

"But you know what?"

Saphira pointed with her sword towards the direction they had been running since they started this journey.

"I can feel that we are getting very close."

She and Nathalia are now running from the demonic beasts and when she said that, Nathalia felt her heart thump.

It has been so long since she felt it.

Yes she may have died as a human but she has a heart in her current body.

Just like how the demon lords get excited when their prey are about to be taken down, she was now feeling her heart move with what Saphira had just said.

"Are you excited?" Saphira even had the urge to tease her.

Nathalia rolled her eyes but before she could respond, Saphira was sent flying forward.

A demonic beast caught up to them.

"SAPHIRA!!!" she shouted, cutting the neck of the demonic beast that attacked Saphira.

"I have not yet died!! Don't shout like that- *cough*"

When Nathalia got close to her, Saphira was too injured to move.

"I look pathetic, don't I?"

Nathalia shook her head.

She decided to carry Saphira on her back as she ran while also attacking and defending from the demonic beasts.

Saphira may still be talkative a while ago and could still fight but she knew she was already at her limit, causing her to be attacked just like that from behind.

"Are you about to cry?"

Yet she still has the energy to joke around.

"Stop it," Nathalia's voice cracked.

"Aa~aah, I guess I made you cry now."

"..."

"But you see Nathalia, at the very least you would be able to say that you fought alongside another person. You didn't feel so alone, right?"

Nathalia gritted her teeth but it was proven even more difficult to fight against the demonic beasts.

She herself is getting tired, it was two against many after all.

Even if her constitution matched the place, to fight so much would still be very difficult.

"Don't... Don't die..."

Finally she uttered.

"I am doing my best not to. At least until we get the chance to meet the one we are trying to meet. I mean, I have a gut feeling that the person you are yearning for is that different entity I had been feeling."

"Saphira..."

Nathalia's voice is already in a tone of begging.

"I have to meet him, because we tried so hard just to do so. I need to get my hard work pay off."

"Why... are you so optimistic?" Nathalia repeated her question earlier.

Saphira took a deep breath, "Why are you repeating your question? I do get dishearten at times but, at this moment, I don't feel like being disheartened. I just want to look forward to the things I can still look forward to."

The more she spoke, the more Nathalia could hear her voice lowering.

She attacked much more ferociously and escaped running towards one direction.

"Please..."

For the very first time in a very long time.

Nathalia was begging.

Begging to someone or something she wished was there.

"Please save her... Even if it's just her... Save this young one..."

She cried just as another attack came to her and she ended up tumbling forward.

She didn't care about her and checked on Saphira that was on her back.

She made her lie on her lap.

"I'm sorry," she spoke, no longer minding the rushing demonic beasts, ready to rip them apart.

Saphira smiled and shook her head weakly, "Don't be. We survived long enough."

"Your friends..."

"They will come though I may no longer have the energy to wait for them."

She glanced at the demonic beasts coming closer and closer.

Nathalia cried more, "Please... please!!! Please!!! PLEASE!!! SAVE HER!!!!"

A demonic beast was ready to bite Nathalia's head off as she covered Saphira with her body.

Only for the bite not to come.

She waited but only heard the shouts of the demonic beasts, obviously being ripped apart.

When she raised her head, Saphira also looked towards the one fighting.

Then she chuckled, "Quite a handsome one."

Nathalia cried even more as she watched him fight.

Saphira was right, he was here all along.

Only because she gave up that they never got the chance to meet for so long.

"Now... don't cry..."

She looked down at Saphira when a palm was placed on her cheek.

"Aren't you happy, you didn't give up?"

Nathalia sniffed, "I want you to be happy."

In such a situation where it was still unknown if they will survive at the appearance of this new person, this was what Nathalia ended up blurting out.

"More than me. More than anyone else, I want you to be happy."

Saphira smiled again but her breathing was turning shallow.

"Please, let me do something. Let me be someone who can help her... PLEASE HEAR ME!!! I AM BEGGING YOU!!! COME TO ME!!!!"

The man who was fighting off the demonic beasts was stunned enough to see a human with an already dark Nathalia, but he was even more shocked to see that a light suddenly rushed down to where the two were.

"Finally, you called for me."

Nathalia was lost for words as she looked at the person standing in front of her.

While Saphira who was shocked at first ended up grinning.

"Lily!!"

Lily squatted down and caressed Saphira's cheek.

"Aren't you a mess?"

Saphira giggled before returning her eyes to Nathalia.

"See... they came..."

As she said this, five other lights dropped down to where they were and surrounded the two of them supporting the man who was fighting.

"As I instructed, your mythological beasts are the ones keeping this connection open but they don't have that much time. Get back up fast, we will support you as well," Lily instructed the five of them.

Hunter went to Saphira, a sign of shock flashed by his eyes when he saw Nathalia before he took over in carrying Saphira.

"Lily," Saphira called out.

Lily looked at her.

"Take care... and..."

She reached out her hand to both Lily and Nathalia, when they both reached out and she was able to hold them, she placed their hands over one another.

"Be happy... after all... he had been waiting for you for so long."

Lily blinked before she realized that there is someone else fighting the demonic beasts, giving greater support to the other four who are now fighting as well.

She shook her head, "Once I give you the signal, grab on to the light. Your beasts will pull you out of here. But as they do, surely beasts will still attack so don't let your guard down until you are completely out of here."

The light she was talking about are the five concentrated beams of lights that came down with them.

"Bye bye... Thank you..." Saphira said to Nathalia.

Nathalia shook her head, "Thank you."

She walked over and planted a kiss on Saphira's temple, Lily smiled and did the same, the two are still holding each other's hands.

"Go!" Lily spoke when she felt that the surrounding was much weaker.

The five grabbed hold of the concentrated light.

Soon they ascended at a fast speed but not fast enough that no demonic beast could rush up to them.

"You must be happy, you didn't give up," Nathalia whispered as she watched them before turning to Lily.

"It is time," Lily spoke.

Nathalia nodded her head.

"Jiro!! One minute," they shouted at the same time.

The man who had been fighting without a word, grinned.

"I won't wait any longer than that."
