"Oh if I had a gold piece for every time I met a super genius who could never figure out where exactly they were and would always arrive late to even the places they would frequent, I would most likely be able to purchase this entire world with very little to no difficulties." Master Sei held himself back from laughing at many memories in his life since said cultivators going through such a thing was rather comedic depending on how you looked at it.
"So what you are saying is, the heavens are just making things more difficult for me, because I had enough luck to receive an edge that others would not get, even if they grew up in very well off households and had access to countless resources to aid them on their path towards immortality?" Timothy bitterly asked as if he wanted to be wrong since such a stupid concept was incredibly bizarre.
"My disciple, I know that this will be frustrating moving forward, but at least when you breakthrough to each new stage of cultivation, the heavens will not make it nearly impossible for you. Do you realize how many cultivators would even gladly give up one arm if it meant becoming immortal and existing forever?" Master Sei asked Timothy. If he wasn't just a portion of his soul being formed in a ghost like form, he would have patted Timothy on the head.
"I suppose you are correct, and it is not like at this point I could get rid of the ability now that I have it. At least I have you to help guide me during these hardships as well as my family and friends. Even if it took me much longer to reach immortality, at least I could become filthy rich in the process!" Timothy responded to his master in a cheerful way. If his ability was that of heaven defying, it meant that in the future he may be able to unlock more secrets by using it as well.
As time went on, the round was coming to a close and Jacob was actually in the last match. His opponent seemed a little different compared to all of the other youths and as some of the nearby contestants were discussing loud enough for Timothy to hear, this contestant seemed to not be from Boulder Village but was still given the opportunity to compete.
Even though the judge immediately told them to begin their match, the two opponents remained in place without moving. As several seconds of this went by, someone in the audience shouted out for the two to start the match as some others joined in. However, no matter how many people joined in on these shouts, the two still did not move a muscle.
Finally after one minute, Jacob's opponent began to let out a smile as sweat began to pour down Jacob's face and his breathing started to become very irregular. "Not bad child, if it was not for your special type of aura, you would have been crushed by my technique. Alas, it is a shame that the youngster I had to kill to inherit this technique was so weak to only learn the first level of it!" the opponent told Jacob.
Hearing his opponent casually admitting that he had to kill someone to learn a technique caused Jacob's face to turn sour. It was not just him, but even those who were spectating were able to hear as they looked towards the judge of the match to end it. However, the judge, similar to Jacob, just stood there watching the two opponents without moving or even blinking.
Seeing that something was amiss, the other two judges quickly made their way over to the cultivator who was overseeing the match as Jacob looked as if he had seen a ghost.
"Hey, are you ok?" once he landed next to his friend, the judge gave his body a nudge and it was still not enough to make the judge move. However, laughter could be heard by Jacob's opponent as the energy within his body continued to build. "Hey you, this match is done until we figure out what's going on!" the other judge shouted out before heading over to him.
"How interesting, an Intermediate stage human cultivator thinks that he has enough strength to order me around?" Jacob's opponent shouted out as he unleashed a very strange technique. It was very fast, but all of the experts present including Master Sei were able to see that the hand was not human, as it was driven into the cultivator's chest.
A shocked look appeared on the judge's face as the other judge who was still in a daze finally found himself able to move and communicate as he shouted towards the elders that the youngster was a demon beast and that they needed to capture it immediately in order to interrogate how it was able to slip into Boulder Village so easily.
Hearing what he had said and seeing the now deceased judge falling down onto the stage's floor, the spectators who were all under the Intermediate stage of cultivation quickly began fleeing as the elders began to head down towards the stage. Since this demon beast was able to not only turn itself into a human, but also have high intelligence, it must have had a very high rank within their ranks.
If such a demon beast were to be captured and alive, the Bark Kingdom's Emperor would more than likely give Boulder Village a very nice reward. Therefore, greed filled everyone's eyes who felt that they were capable enough to capture this figure in front of them.
An Intermediate stage cultivator appeared next to Jacob in order to pull him away from the battle, because if he was in the way, the elders may have needed to hold back quite a bit which would make escaping much easier for their prey. Timothy however was told by his master to remain where he was.
