"Mom, I'm fine now, honestly. Why do you keep insisting on knowing how I really feel?" Ryan let out a silent sigh as he spoke to Helen who was on the other end of the line.
"Well, you gave me a lot of headache when I received the news that you slumped. It wouldn't be bad if I keep on insisting." Her nagging voice told him. He gripped the sheet of the bed, trying hard not to voice out the frustration in him. The issue was now constant that he couldn't bear with it anymore.
"And remember to take the pills too. Don't let me get there and see you haven't used them as instructed." Her voice resounded in his ears after.
"Okay, bye mom." He clenched his teeth as he replied.
"Bye." And the call was disconnected.
Relief flooded through him immediately after the disconnection. Nagging — that was one thing he couldn't bear with. Thankfully Lily wasn't the same as her.
