Deep into the Situation

"When you requested a confidential meeting with me, I knew it was pertaining the big thing that had to do with your state. But do you really think I'll approve it? Can I really do that? Because even if I do, what about the members of the parliament? They also have a say in this, remember?"

The president spoke those words with so much authority that Governor Benson had to rethink the anticipation he had about the result of the meeting. The moment he had stepped into that car that had transported him to the plane that brought him here, he had thought it would go so smoothly. But it seemed it was now vice versa.

"Sir, is there anything that makes you say that? I thought we already agreed on the approval and my being here was to let you in on more insights. Did anything change?" he had to ask that as he was still not cool about the sudden change of development.
