Durandal

Silence, Tanden couldn't hear anything as he looked at the crystal he found while taking the materials he had prepared beforehand to build his own original lightsaber. The others were occupied, being taught by the droid Huyang how to build their own weapons, he didn't need that, in fact, he was pretty sure that the technology of the world he came from in his previous life was way more advanced, and while they never built something like lightsabers, his theoretical knowledge had never left him.

The reason being that everything he learned in his previous life did not disappear after his death, and unlike this world where you needed to do things the old way, humanity had already developed the technology to upload information into someone's mind, and those things you would never forget.

However, he for once felt lonely in a long time, when he was born in this different reality or universe, and saw that he had a mother, he was ecstatic. He finally had someone to be emotionally attached to when it came to this sort of relationship, someone he could call a parent, unlike his previous life, where his parents were killed before he could even get the chance to know them.

And now that he was once more bringing the knowledge of his previous life to this place, the memories of the people he once knew started playing on his mind, old cap Harrison, the scrap queen Alanna, his brother in arms Jeremiah, the air ace Bullhead...

They worked together for nearly 8 years, and as the youngest, they made sure to take good care of him. They were the closest thing he had from a family at that time, and even now, after years since he reincarnated he couldn't help but think if they are still out there, maybe somewhere in a faraway galaxy.

"- Tanden!"

"What?" Tanden turned to look behind and was surprised to see the droid standing there looking at him. "What is it?"

"Aren't you going to choose your materials and a design? I won't be able to assist you if you don't."

"I'm sorry, but you can't help me do what I want to, and I have already prepared what I'm going to use."

The droid shook his head and left him alone as he murmured something. "Mandalorians, sigh... Exactly like Tarre, such a stubborn group."

Now that the droid left him alone, he turned to the table where his crystal was and started working, unlike the others, his lightsaber did not require the use of the force, but without a specific piece of technology he had, no one would be able to build it.

Sucking a mouthful of air, he placed four metal plates on the table and murmured in clear English, a language no one knew in this galaxy. "System login, ID FacelessKing. PSWD, blank. Activate Protocol, Blacksmith."

As soon as those words left his mouth, his field of view was suddenly partially covered by a digital interface, this is one of the first things he built when he was younger, specifically a month before his mother died, and was what allowed him to recreate the zero-point blasters he used during his fight against those criminal scums.

Five target marks appeared, locking on the materials he was preparing to use.

[System engaged, initializing assistant mode. Host permission required. Warning, the host's brain is missing important components, chip's efficiency can only reach up 75%. The system advises against activating assistant mode until repairs are done.]

"Ignore warnings, permission granted."

As soon as he said that, he felt an impulse to act in a specific way, in this situation, he cleared his mind and started doing everything according to the chip's specification, based upon the instructions he had set specifically for this situation, this allowed him to work with a precision that was impossible for humans alone.

He extended his hand and the 4 metal-plates, each made out of a specific material, was suddenly crisscrossed by lines that appeared on the surface, while it looked like he was doing it with the force, this was instead done using nanotechnology, something that he had to steal a lot of money to cover the prices of producing it when he was younger.

each one of the plates was then divided into 20 or more small pieces that started taking different shapes, some became circuits, others just parts necessary to the construction of the lightsaber itself. The most difficult part was actually in using the technology of his previous life here before he could only speculate and make some software emulations based on a few formulas and the data he had gathered previously at the Jedi library.

The silver-colored hilt which had a cylindrical shape was 20 cm long, and the specifications of the internal parts should in theory allow him to make it a tri-phase lightsaber, the reason he called it a triple phased lightsaber was due to the possibility of using an energy crystallization technology in order to create a two square meters shield capable of deflecting blaster shots, but this tec had one more purpose, he didn't want something similar to what the other Jedi used, he wanted a unique blade like the one created by his ancestor, Tarre Vizsla.

If everything worked correctly, the blade would look like that of a medieval 80 cm longsword in its shorter form, and a 110 cm claymore in its longer form. Besides, with the technology from his previous life, the blade would have a different aspect that would make it look much more like a physical thing instead of a beam of pure energy, and that wasn't just appearance, he would make it so that the blade had a cross-guard made with the beam of energy that was completely crystalized, allowing him or anyone to touch that part, the reason for doing this was to make something to protect his hand in case someone tried to cut it in the middle of a duel.

Unlike the others it took him 10 minutes to finish everything, he put the crystal inside, and now all that remained was activating it to see if it would work.

"Young Tanden." Hearing the droid's voice he turned to look at his back and was surprised seeing everyone there looking at him, the younglings, Master Yaddle and Padawan Bultar. "Let me take a look at you lightsaber."

Sighing he nodded and gave him the lightsaber.

The droid took the thing and started analyzing its components, however, with each second that passed the more uncertain he seemed to be. "This... I'm afraid I can't recognize the technology used on the construction of your lightsaber, I can't say if there are any mistakes or problems with it..."

Hearing this both Yaddle and Bultar raised an eyebrow, all in all, Tanden was becoming more and more interesting as the time passes.

"Please everyone, take a few steps back, if there are any problems with it, the lightsaber might explode."

Everyone nodded and backed away from Tanden, Ahsoka who went together with them gave him a thumbs-up sign, as if she was saying 'good luck'.

Sighing, he first murmured the words 'log off' in English, then he held the hilt with both hands. Well, time to see if he made everything correctly. He pressed the button on the hilt and almost at lightspeed, a clear shining light-red longsword blade appeared from the hilt, everything was exactly like he intended it to be!

Seeing this everyone opened their eyes wide, what the hell was that? Could it still be called a lightsaber at this point!? They didn't even know about the other capabilities of his weapon, and even then this was already too different to be called a lightsaber.

"Haha!" Yaddle laughed slightly. "As expected of the second Mandalorian to ever enter the order, a lightsaber as unique as its creator! Will you give it a name as your ancestor did?"

Hearing this, he looked at his lightsaber for a moment, unsure of what to do, but then, he remembered something from his previous life, a legend about a paladin in medieval times...

"Well..." He gulped. "I'll call it Durandal then..." He blushed slightly, it was embarrassing to give his weapon such a legendary name...

"Such an exotic name... does it have any meaning?" Bultar asked with a curious glint in her eyes.

"Well... It's from a legend that speaks about a sword that could cut through mountains and that was indestructible..."

"Hm, I see, such an interesting legend indeed." She smiled, but Tanden could only lower his head as he blushed, it was too embarrassing for him.
