Silence and Peace

FELICIA

For the whole day, I refused to leave my room. I had said a couple of words to my family when they came to check up on me, but it wasn't enough to call it a conversation.

My body hurts from the time alone, thinking of what I wanted to do with my life... and where to go from here. For the first time in months, I realised Martha was never coming back. She was gone, for good. And that was something I needed to live with.

I rummaged through my clothes, selecting the LET IT GO tee that escorted me to bed each night. At the sight of it, I tore up, sitting on the ground to cradle the tee in my hands.

Jake's words kept replaying: "Martha would want you happy. She'd want you to move on. She'd never wish you the way you are. Sometimes Chipmunk, love means letting go. Love is all about sacrifices. And this is one you have to make if you love Marths. You have memories to keep her alive..."
