Undead (Part 3)

One by one the bodies fell. The dead and the living. Wendy dropped to her last legs, her hands shaking, her knees creaking, she was exhausted, unable to use her Harmony. One by one they fell.

Only five remained.

"Everyone stay back! Get behind me." (Mike Yellow)

The ashes fell on the scene. They were overrun. Knawing zombies at death's door. Mike Yellow swung his sword to protect his fallen comrades. The undead soldiers pilling ontop of each other, swinging tearing. Mike couldn't hold his sword anymore, his muscles tore, his body weighed, he fell to his knees, his comrades behind him.

"Run! I can't hold them back anymore!" (Mike Yellow)

The undead soldiers broke past the front line. Mike swung his sword in his final attempt. He missed, his body falling forward, trampled, scratched, cut, bleeding. He reached forward, to the empty light, his final straw of strength. He felt the touch of a metallic surface, a heavy shield, the shield that once belonged to Tinnin.

His friend.

Wendy held out her hands. The three other C-Ranks cowering behind her, scared and unable to fight. Wendy closed her eyes as the undead reached her as the undead-

"I'm not giving up yet!" (Mike Yellow)

The loud screeches of Mike echoed from the center of the undead. An explosion of power erupting from the depths of his final thoughts, of his final words.

"Mike don't do this! Run away from here!" (Wendy)

Mike crawled from the layers of bones, he crawled from the claws, from the stabs, from the daggers and pain. he crawled until he reached Wendy.

"I can't just run! I have to protect you! I love you-" (Mike Yellow)

An explosion of golden light!

"Gold Rain x3." (Bollin)

All the undead soldiers exploded away, their skin and bones shattering into thousands of little fragments of light. Hover stood with his hands in his baggy pockets, his face smiling and happy. A golden aura about him. A golden presence in front of the blood and gore. He looked down. His face turned sour.

Mike's scratched up, bruised, bleeding body.

"Yikes sorry. My bad." (Bollin)

---

"Let's go!" (Axel)

"Yeah, I'm ready." (Mel)

Mel slapped her two hands together creating a sharp pink light.

"But before we start I gotta give you a little lesson on Harmony." (Mel)

"Another lesson? Now of all times." (Axel)

"Yes of course! Like my father always says. Lessons can be learned no matter where you are, no matter what you're doing." (Mel)

"I don't think that's true?" (Axel)

"Ok ok just shut up and listen. Do you remember the three Harmonys I showed you? The sleep, the barrier, and the freeze Harmony?" (Mel)

"Yeah." (Axel)

"My father taught me this Harmony. It's a spell of the highest caliber, of the highest skill. It's when you take all three of the Harmonys I just told you about and combine them into one. And Axel, you might remember it from when you first met my Dad. He calls it Time Harmony." (Mel)

"Time Harmony? Mel, you can really do that?" (Axel)

She crossed her fingers. The pink light grew brighter. She closed her eyes.

"Axel once I stop time in the surrounding area you'll have to head straight for the Undead Necromancer. Plus you'll only have thirty seconds before I run out of Harmony, so make it fast. You got it?" (Mel)

He was filled with determination. His fist tightened, strong, accelerated.

"Are you ready for your lesson Axel!" (Mel)

"You bet!" (Axel)

"Emit pots!" (Mel)

"Emit? Pots? Who?" (Gen)

The world went black and white. Everything became a frozen wasteland. The waves of sand, the marching undead soldiers. Gen was frozen as well and so was Mel. The only one able to move was Axel and only Axel.

He stepped forward. His cloak covering his muscularly slender figure. He snapped the top button from his color and let it loose. The cloak slid off like a vial of darkness, falling to the windless ground with a thump. He stepped forward. He cracked his knuckles. He closed his eye.

"I know you're in there." (Axel)

"Ohhhh... You already figured it out?" (Unknown Voice)

The unknown voice echoed through Axel's head.

"I'm no idiot. I noticed you last night at the party when I went into past memories. You thought you could erase everything, and you did. But you forgot to erase one thing." (Axel)

"Me?" (Unknown Voice)

"Yes you. You forgot to erase yourself." (Axel)

Axel covered his silver eye with the palm of his hand. He focused on the darkness in his head.

"So now that you know of my existence what are you going to do?" (Unknown Voice)

"Honestly, I don't care who you are or what your plan is. You can stay in my head for all I care, but only on one condition." (Axel)

"A deal?" (Unknown Voice)

"Not a deal, a demand. I know you're strong, so help me out with killing this Undead whatever the fuck." (Axel)

"I will, but only with one-third." (Unknown Voice)

"One-third of what?" (Axel)

"Of your power." (Unknown Voice)

A silence in the darkness.

"My power... So I got powers? I can do Harmony? Magic or whatever? Yes or no? What's my power?" (Axel)

One second passed.

Ten minutes passed in Axel's head.

He jumped forward in a running sprint. He jumped over the undead soldiers, stepping from head to head, skull to skull, bone to bone. He flung himself into the air. His fist tightening, gripping, faster, harder, stronger. He opened his silver eye...

"What's my power!" (Axel)

"Dimension." (Unknown Voice)

"Dimension?" (Axel)

"It is hard to explain. But you already know of its abilities. It is your power after all." (Unknown Voice)

His silver eye glistened, glowed.

"What's your name?"

"Heh, another stupid question. You already know my name, and my face, and my life. You already know everything about me." (Unknown Voice)

"I do?" (Axel)

Axel floated in his own mind, the empty infinite walls that spanned forever. only little specs of memories floating from particle to particle, air to air. He tried to reach but he could never grasp, he could never touch.

He looked into the void. he looked for a minute straight. Black forever and ever and ever and ever. He closed his silver eye. He let himself fall deeper and deeper and deeper.

He woke up. His body already in the midst of battle. His fist aiming straight for the Undead Necromancer.

Thirty seconds.

"I can only remember your name? I don't know who you are?" (Axel)

"That is fine. My name is all you need." (Unknown Voice)

Axel smiled.

"Let's do this! Gabriel!" (Axel)

"Third Dimension!" (Gabriel)

His fist full speed, a destructive blow an explosive punch. He was full force. A direct hit on the Undead Necromancer.

Crack.

Sizzle.

Silence.

The silver eye glowed pearl white. Shinning an explosive power into Axel's fists.

"Third Dimension, Forgotten World!" (Axel)

White light exploded across the Orange Sea.

Thirty-one seconds passed.

Mel and Gen woke up. They looked out into the sandy distance. All the undead stood tall, their lifeless skeleton bodies standing still. They stood still. Stood still.

A minute passed.

"Mel, why aren't they moving?" (Gen)

"Did Axel do it? Did he kill the Undead Necromancer?" (Mel)

One by one the undead soldiers fell apart. Their bones and dried skin rattling to the sand below. Puffs of orange clouds erupted into the air as thousands of undead collapsed in sequence across the sea.

"Did he do it?" (Mel)

The orange fog slowly dissipated as Gen slowly walked up to an undead soldier. She picked at it's cracked skull, she looked into its empty head, through its empty sockets.

"I think he did it!" (Gen)

She ran past the hundreds of scattered bones. She ran into the clouds of orange sand, she disappeared from Mel's vision.

Mel stood with a smile. She stepped forward. She fell forward from exhaustion catching herself on one knee.

Footsteps echoed. An ominous figure stood behind her. Mel turned around.

"Are you... What are you doing over here...? Hike." (Mel)
