Stranded.

A girl washed up on the beach woke up and coughed water out.

"Ugh, too salty" She said and stood up. "Where am I?" She asked herself as she looked at her surroundings.

There was nothing but a clear sea and a dense forest, she realized that she got stranded on an island and tries to find the boat she used to get here. She comes across her bag and inspects the inside.

"My supplies seem to be intact" She said while she inspected the cans of food she had packed in her bag. "Now then, I should start a campfire"

She carried her bag to a spot where she would make the campfire. She then gathered sticks and rocks and creates a campfire from scratch. Minutes later, she constructed a shelter for herself and sat inside it.

"If I ration my food I should be able to reach at least a month" She said as she starts to feel sleepy. "I'm still exhausted... I should take a quick nap" she said and then laid down on a pile of leaves she placed and uses her bag as a pillow.

Hours later, she's suddenly awoken by a noise coming from the dense forest, getting nearer and nearer each second.

"Stay calm, stay calm" She said to herself as she grabbed a stick nearby.

The noise stops behind her shelter, she starts to pant heavily and tries to remain calm. Minutes later, she hears the noise getting further away and sighs in relief.

"I should be careful, I don't know anything about this place" She said.

Suddenly a hawk landed behind the fire, out of curiosity, she slowly approached it and then realized, it's a robot! Suddenly it turns around and notices her and starts screeching a very loud pitch.

"What the heck? Be quiet!" She said as she tried hitting it with a stick but missed it as it flies to a tree, still screeching.

She couldn't do anything as she heard the noise from before coming back, even faster than before, the only thing she could do was to run away and enter the dense forest. She kept running and avoiding branches as the noise was getting nearer and nearer behind her, she glanced back trying to figure out what was chasing her and didn't see a branch in front of her, she hit it head-on and fell to the floor. As she started going unconscious, she saw a dark figure reaching their hand to her.

"Hm. She's been knocked out for a few hours now, do you think she'll be alright?"

"Chwirk! Chwirk!"

"Do you have to be so loud?"

She heard as she started waking up, she felt comfortable and warm. She rose and noticed she was laying on a couch with a warm blanket on her.

"Huh? Where am I?" She said and realized she was in a very fancy house with only the lights of the porch and kitchen. A man was cooking something with the bird from before beside him.

"Oh, you're awake" The man said still cooking.

She was unable to see his face since she was facing his back. She grabbed a small nearby statue made of metal as a weapon. "Where am I?" She asked.

"Chwirk" The bird said.

"Hm? She's using a small statue as a weapon?" The man said. "Well, I don't judge her"

"I asked you! Who are you?" She asked once more.

The man poured soup to a plate and slowly turned around to not spill it, shocking her and making her drop the statue.

He put down the plate on the dining table nearby and urged her to sit down. Still in a shocked and confused state, she did what he said and sat down and started drinking.

"Chwirk" The bird said.

"Yeah, are you okay kid? You look confused" He said, worried.

"Y-You're... Yuudai Yoshikawa" She said. "Y-You're alive"

It indeed was Yuudai, wearing an eyepatch on his right eye and looking a bit older.

"Do I know you?" Yuudai asked with a smile.

"I'm Hana, Takeshi's daughter" She said. "Don't you remember me?"

"Sorry kid but I don't remember anything for the last 5 years" Yuudai said.

"5 years ago? That's when you were declared dead" She frantically said.

"Don't be silly, I'm alive right now" Yuudai said.

"But if you don't remember anything, how do you know your name?" Hana asked, curious.

"From a diary I found" He said. "Seems like it belonged to me"

The hawk from before flew to them, carrying a diary on its mouth. Yuudai grabbed it and showed it to Hana. It had Yuudai's name on it and she scrolled through the pages, realizing that it didn't contain any information about his past with WJO.

"I'm just a normal university student" Yuudai said with a smile. "But I still don't know how I got here nor anything about this place"

"So, you don't remember anything?" Hana said disheartened. "Nothing about your friends, missions or who you were really?"

Yuudai shook his head. "I don't even have my memories, I just listen to what my diary says" he said. "So I'm a blank book"

"I see" She said as she closed his diary.

"So, where are your parents?" Yuudai asked. "And how were you able to get here?"

Hana gave a long sigh "I was forced to run away by my parents to protect me" she said. "They ambushed us and captured them, I barely made it"

"Barely made it from what?" Yuudai asked, curious. "What has happened this last 5 years?"

"An organization called Dark Eye nuked all of the countries and rebuilt society under their control" She explained. "And the ones against them have been hiding away and trying to sabotage them"

Yuudai was shocked, he was living peacefully whilst the outside world was suffering. He started frenetically walking around the room.

"Did I have loved ones? If so are they okay?" He said in a panicked and scared tone.

"You don't remember your friends nor family?" Hana asked, surprised.

"Friends?" He said. "The past me mentioned that I had some but not the names of friends nor family" he said as he still walked around the room.

"You don't remember Yuuto?" Hana asked.

Yuudai stopped and looked at her. He looked like he had seen a ghost and asked her where she had heard that name.

"I... Umm... Asked Ms. Emi" She said, a bit scared.

"E-Emi...?" Yuudai said as his head started hurting and started to get dizzy.

"H-Hey are you alright?" Hana asked, started to get worried.

"Y-Yeah, I just need to rest for a bit" Yuudai said, trying to keep his balance. "Take this, you'll be able to understand L0-K1, known more as Loki" he handed her some sort of hearing piece and then headed up the stairs to his room.

She placed it on her left ear and was left stunned to hear the sounds of the bird turn into understandable words.

"Do you understand me?" Loki asked.

"Yeah, how's this possible?" She asked.

"Well, each sound that I make is a codified word that I say, quite ingenious from him" Loki said.

"Do you know anything about the outside world?" She asked.

"Sadly, I don't" Loki said. "My wings aren't suited for the storm of the open sea"

"Were you created by him?" She asked.

"Indeed, it appears he's quite interested in birds and aerodynamics" Loki said. "And after trials and errors, he created me"

"Hm. I see, so he keeps his interests and emotions even if he lost his memories" Hana said.

"Who was he in the past?" He asked.

"He was a man who was lied to and so he finally spread his wings and fought against the liar. In the end, he was defeated, including the one who lied to him" She said. "And he was thought to be dead"

"Dead? By who?" Loki asked.

"By his friends..." Hana said, yawning.

"Hm. It appears that you're tired" Loki said. "Follow me, I'll guide you to your room"

Meanwhile, Yuudai was asleep on his bed, he dreamed of a version of him killing someone brutally and mercilessly.

"S-Stop it" Yuudai shouted at him. "I-I'M NOT LIKE THAT!"

"Then how are you really?" A voice said from behind.

Yuudai turned around and saw a big, cracked mirror in which he could only see his feet, his right arm, part of his torso and his eyepatch and mouth.

"Tell me, university student, how were you before?" The Yuudai in the mirror said. "Innocent? A good man?"

Yuudai couldn't answer.

"Oh, that's right. You don't remember" He said. "And now you know that the world outside is in chaos while you have been here enjoying and relaxing"

"Stop it, stop it" Yuudai said.

"You should be ashamed of yourself, the you from the past and present" He said as he walked away from Yuudai.

Yuudai couldn't do anything but to cry as the mirror got further and further away.
