Chapter 30

Alexis's POV

My mother sat on my bed, watching me unpack.

"I still can't believe you are here, Mom." I repeated for probably the twentieth time. "And I can't believe you're here!" She exclaimed, hopping off the bed and wrapping her arms around me from behind.

Everything was so unreal.

A month ago, my mom argued with my father and reclaimed our relationship. Within a few hours, my suitcases were packed, I was saying goodbye to my best friends, and on a plane to god-knows-where with my mother. But, I wouldn't have it any other way.

On the plane ride, my mom told me baby stories and her rise to success in the years of her absence. I wasn't upset at all with her. There was no hate in my heart towards my mother for chasing her dreams. Hearing the truth from her and my father gave me all the understanding I needed.
