Wolfgang's POV
Dammit! What the fuck is wrong with me?!
I came here on a mission and it was to reject her and get on with my life, but I couldn't utter the fucking word.
I kept rambling about her being a liability and worthless to me and the pack as my mate but still, I could not reject her.
She stood there before me, trembling and crying while she heard my reasons and I felt the urge to take her into my embrace and never let go of her. But I couldn't do that! I could not risk this packs safety just because of her.
'Quit the fucking yapping kid! You're breaking her heart!' Cronnos shouted in my head.
I looked into her eyes. Those huge gray eyes that showed every emotion within her. I was afraid she might collapse any minute with her petite form.?
"I... I understand..." She finally spoke but looked down to her feet as her hands played with the bag she held, visibly trembling.
It's now or never Wolfgang! Reject her and get over it.
"I..." I started but I got cut off when a strange girl with brow looks and long limbs walked through the living room and ran up to Aurora, cradling her in her long arms.
"Rory. Are you alright?" She asked her and held her shaking shoulders as the young girl cried. Right then, my gamma and Mrs. Kala came back from the back along with Mrs. Craton who immediately took the side of Aurora. They all held a face of sympathy for the petite girl who shook while she sobbed into the other girls arms.
"Alpha, you shouldn't have been so harsh with her. She clearly took the garment unconsciously since she was distraught because some bastard hurt her feelings last night. I'm sure she won't do it again." Remus reprimanded me. If he only knew that the bastard was me.
"Is this the uniform sweetheart?" Kala asked her as she pointed to the bag Aurora held.
She only nodded her head.
"I'll take it with me then, dearie." Kala took the bag from Aurora's hand and smiled at me. "Now, see? No harm done. The garment is back in our possession." She said as she walked back over to where I stood.
I tried my best to keep my expression as stoic as ever and glanced back a the small girl who still denied to look back up at me.
I sucked my teeth and turned to the door. "We're leaving."
I walked out the house still hearing her silent sobs and Cronnos lecturing me about hurting her again, but all that kept running through my mind was how fucking weak I was and that I wasn't able to reject her.
Aurora's POV
As soon as Montana closed the door, I ran up the stairs and into my room, locking the door behind me. I didn't want to listen to either of their inquisitions.
What would I say? I couldn't tell her why I was so upset. And no, it wasn't because they called me a thief. It was because now I knew for sure that alpha Wolfgang didn't want me.?
'Aurora... Don't cry... He does want you. He just doesn't seem to accept it.' Rhea tried to make me feel better. But I kept crying and crying.
"Rors! Come on boo. Open up. What's wrong?" I heard my best friend call from the other side of the door.
"I don't wanna talk about it." I replied through the closed door.
"Rory? C'mon Hun. Don't cry. It wasn't serious. They all understood that it was just a mistake." Montana called from outside. "Please open up Rory. I hate to see you like this." She said.
"Go away... Leave me alone." I shouted from my bed. I heard her sigh.
"I think you should go home for now Em." I heard Montana tell Emma and walked away from the door.
"Call me if when you feel better okay? I'm here for you Rors." I heard my friend say before she walked off also.
I don't know when, but I eventually fell asleep.?
When I woke, it was already dawn, so I got up and decided to take a walk to help clear my mind.?
I went downstairs and saw my stepmother fast asleep on the living room couch. I didn't want to disrupt her, so I walked right out the house and walked down to the park where my dad used to take me to play.?
Once I reached there, the sun had already sunk, and the moon shined brightly above. I sat on one of the swings and thought about the events of today. How alpha Wolfgang treated me and the words he said about me.?
Sadness was soon being replace with rage. I felt my body boiling with anger. A if I was gonna burst any minute.
'It's time for us to shift Aurora. Since it's your first time, it's gonna hurt you a bit' Rhea spoke from within my head. 'I'd recommend you run into the woods, strip off your clothes and secure them somewhere, cause once we shift, it'll tear, and you'll be left nude when you turn back to your human form.' She explained.
I somewhat remembered dad telling jokes about how he'd end up nude after shifting before taking his clothes off and having to walk back home covering himself with whatever leaf or piece of carton box he found.
I looked around and found that I was completely alone. I got up and ran to the forest just beyond the playground and hid behind a tree. I glanced around once more, just to make sure I was alone and quickly stripped from my clothes.?
I hid them in the dent of a trunk and waited for more instructions from Rhea.
'Okay, now concentrate. Feel the aura that I'm sending to you. You'll feel heat emanate from your chest and spread to your entire body. Don't fight it. Just let it take over your body.'
I did as she told me and felt a tingling sensation that began from the core of my chest and slowly it began to grow stronger. Then?pain?erupted from within me, causing every bone in my body to ache as if it was breaking in two.
"Aah!" I grabbed my arms as I felt the pain intensify.
'Don't fight it Aurora. Let it take over you.' Rhea said in my mind.
I tried my best to not hold back and let it go. The pain spread to my arms and legs, fingers and toes. I could feel every bone in me stretching and breaking as it was rearranging. My legs bending backwards in an awkward way.
I fell to ground and saw how my hands slowly transformed into paws with sharp claws. Fur started spreading over me and covering my entire nakedness.
My mouth elongated, turning into a snout as sharp fangs replaced my?teeth.?
I looked up to the moon and felt all my senses heightened. My?vision?was that of a nocturnal spyglass, I could see a little ladybug that was fluttering over a shrub a good couples of miles from where I stood.
My smelling became stronger as well allowing me to smell the dew which started to settle on the grass, rabbits that ran pass the tree I stood. I could smell everything within miles away.
'You've officially did it Aurora. You've transformed into a wolf. How do you feel?' She asked me.
'I feel... like running!' I said to my inner wolf earning a sweet chuckle from her.
'Then do it! What are you waiting for?' She asked, and I didn't hesitate and sprinted like a wild dog.
I ran so fast I barely saw anything more than a blur as I passed every tree. I felt so free and so alive. It must have been a couple of miles when I reached a clearing with a massive lake. I felt parched so I walked over to it and dip my head to take a drink but stopped when I saw my reflection.
My fur was white as snow and my eyes shined purple like an amethyst. I've never seen or heard of a transformation like mine before.
'Maybe you are unique.' Rhea told me, to which I snorted and drank my fill of water. 'Yeah right.' I answered back.
I walked back and laid on the clearing allowing myself a chance to rest from all the running I'd been doing.
'You are special Aurora. You just don't see it yet.' Rhea continued but I ignored her.
'I'm not special Rhea. I'm useless. You heard the alpha himself. He would not take me as his mate because I was a weakling. A useless wolf.' I said as I recalled his hurtful words.
I couldn't help the whimper that escape from within me.?
'This is pointless. I have nothing good in this town to hold on to. Maybe I should pack my things and leave.' I thought to myself. 'I could go to the village mom grew up in the east. I always dreamed of going there one day.'?
I was deep in my thoughts when I felt the snap of a twig.
I stood alert and faced the source of the sound and found myself facing a huge black wolf with icy blue eyes. They seemed so familiar, but I couldn't tell where I've seen them before.
The wolf moved threateningly towards me as he growled, bearing his fangs.
'Shit.'
