BLIZZARD

Craig steadily pushes him up off the front passenger sit, using the branches through the windshield he used it to pull himself up. The cuts despite being small was painful enough to make him struggle. He can only pull himself up to a certain point as the tree's branches are on his way, he looks toward his side to see the door still in place. He lifted his legs up on to the driver's sit and gets into a position where he can kick the door down. With whatever strength he has he starts to push on the door, but it was clearly not enough, he is still weak. He tries and tries but all he is doing is expending more energy.

Craig ended up in the most uncomfortable position and it makes him struggle even more. The awkward position of his body makes it sore and laying down has just become much worse, and things starts to look harder for the young man. He then turned to the passenger door on top of his head, the door seems undamaged. He reached out to the door handle slowly, the branches limited the distance he can reach and so he used his right arm from the bottom. He slowly navigates it in the tight small area and reaches for the handle but his pinky is the only one that can hold on to the door handle.

He put all his strength to his one pinky and after few pulls the door opens. He smiled in relief and now he starts to drag himself out, the branches makes it harder for him to move out. He slowly carefully crawls under the branches, his clothes would get caught on the branches but with a little maneuvering he easily gets himself off it. He finally puts his head on the door and he pushes it, the blizzard has came here. Using his back he managed to get out of the car and fall onto the snow, he suffered small scratches but nothing to be worried about, he took off his jacket and crawled out.

The cold wind blew on his face and he can barely see a thing in front of him. He looks past the fallen tree which is obviously hacked down by someone, the snowfall made the road disappear. He looks everywhere but the furry is the only thing he can see. He starts to walk aimlessly in the blizzard whilst covering his face, the cold wind quickly dehydrated him and it adds more of a problem. He takes a few steps away from the car and as he turned around the car has been enveloped in the fog. Everything is just snow, he needs to find the road to get an idea of where he is.

He walked back slowly and he came back to the car, destroyed and useless. He checked the car to gather some of his things, he grabbed his ruined jacket but he still wore it. He walks westward of the car and unbeknownst to him he is walking away from the 70th interstate that he is following and driving through. He pasts by a leafless grove and he continued ahead, he passes the grove and still nothing. He walked aimlessly as he looks everywhere. A little while more he sees parts of a vehicle, to his joy he dragged himself across the snow and got to the vehicle, as he gets closer a clearer view of a building come into view.

Craig then realizes where he is, Census-designated place in the state of Pennsylvania called West Alexander. He goes back to the road and the car seems to not be in the area, Craig has moved a little further up than the car. He follows small dead trees that he remembered as he made his way back to Washington. He follows the trees until the line ends. He notices the grove in front of him, a rode is diverging away from the main road, he now knows that he is in the 70th interstate. He followed down the road and trees seems to have fallen down on the road, he followed the fallen dead trees instead, it was obviously hacked down.

The fog has started to wind down and the blizzard has already pass. The strong blizzard has piped down into a flurry, the wind has slowed down and everything starts to become clearer. He looks back and he can see his car slowly coming into view, he continued to forward as he is in the right direction. After almost half an hour he can see the small census. He sees a destroyed overpass in front of him, most of the bridge buried in the snow. He looks to the right and knows the small community is up there, he plans to climb the hill, as he climbs up he trips on a metallic fence that is put up on the edge of the road.

"fuck... shit.. okay a little bit more"

He continued and walked up the small hill, the steepness of the hill makes climbing a bit difficult, the snow crumbles on his feet. Craig takes small and careful steps as he get up on the hill, he has nothing to hold on to. Despite the carefulness the snow crumbles, but with diligence and patience he manages to get up on the hill, not long as he got up the snow falls down but he managed to jump to a tree and grabbed on.

"That would have been a pain"

He gets up and pats the snow off him, he enters the first house he sees and then breaks in. The smell of decaying filled the air and it was enough to give him the feeling of throwing up, he got back to his senses and looks through, the house has collapsed and small lighting bounced around. The light shows rotting corpses, the bodies have been there for so long and dead blow flies are everywhere, the cold has killed them. He steps in and he clearly sees the interior of the house rotting away, every step he makes always creaks, with the added howling of the weak wind outside he is on edge.
