LOUD NOISES

The kids held on to the pipe bombs firmly and the men around them prayed, 2 kids are willing to throw the pipe bombs. The men are crying except for them, they just smiled and they seem to be thrilled, but his smile hides a bit of sadness, and gratefulness. They got down onto the street and Rob's men quickly moves east ward past the building with the paneled roof, and they got onto a parking lot and they told Toby and Eugene of their sacrifice and wait for a 'loud noise'. The 2 boys moved slowly in the shadows of the building slowly, one of them moved forward in order to get to the building right outside the building, it is also a building that serves as a energy source. They have 2 buildings that serves as surfaces for their solar panels, the wind turbines are on the parking lot and whirling loudly.

The first boy gets behind the building and puts out the pipe bombs and carefully climbed the rusting ladder, he goes up one by one taking his time. As he puts his feet on every rusted steps, his feet tremble and it starts to weaken under his weight. Thinking quickly he puts the rope around the highest ladder but then realizes the pipe bombs are heavy, he complained under his breath, he steps one more and a part of the step broke apart. He holds on the rusty ladder even biting to ensure that he does not fall, he does not want to look up, he slowly grab the rope and slowly pulls it up and there seems to be a bit of hitch. Realizing that he almost killed himself he prepares for his upcoming fate. He climbs up the rusting ladder slowly but surely and after a few struggle he climbs up just as soon half the ladder falls off. Looking down he knows that he will hurt his leg and will not be able to run away.

*Lachlan you there?*

"Yes boss"

*Well hurry up and p-"

*I think I'm gonna die"

*What?*

"This is too high for me to jump down, might get hurt.. don't send anyone else please"

*.....*

"Boss?!"

*Sure, we hear ya kid... thank you*

Lachlan looks down and sees his partner on the other side of the buildings waving, he smiled and waved back. He looks at the pipe bombs and set it up, he hears footsteps rushing down and one of the men calls out about the broken ladder. He just smiled as he wrapped the pipe bombs around the legs of the solar panel, he stands up and screams. The soldiers see him he jumps off as soon as he pulled the pins off, he was greeted with bullets as he fall down and seconds after his jump the bombs exploded along with the building. The person on the second building pulled the pins and his exploded immediately. Eugene drove his truck and the loud revving is heard all the way the the building, the 2 remaining groups hailed bullets and threw explosives on the much stronger and heavily defended building.

Soldiers from the building came out and they are shot as soon as they stepped outside. After a little more fighting and explosions flew around, the part of the building nearest to the explosion starts to crumble down, the walls go off piece by piece and anyone who is under it gets knocked out or killed by the debris. The wind mills starts to fall down and made the escape of the people much harder, they are stuck between the heavy bodies of the mills and bullets killing them.

"We have no way to get out of here?"

"We can't see them sir!"

"Use the RPGs and look at where those bullets come from, and shoot there"

"...."

"What did I S-"

A bullet got imbedded in the back of his head, the 3 snipers returned back to their post and gets view of the inside of the facility, they start taking people who carried a gun while those who cannot froze in fear and cowered in the ground. As hell broke lose in the building something out of the blue came jumping in and tackling the soldiers who got out. Toby looked around as he continued to fire and there seems to be little to no more gunshots, he then realize why as the answer came running towards him. It bit down on the ground and the loose tooth falls off and onto his face, and so did the saliva, he got shot on the leg by someone, and the runner's saliva came pouring into his mouth. One of his men came to save him by killing the 2, he kneels over to Toby.

"Sir are you okay?"

'No, give me those' Toby commanded him upon seeing the pipe bombs hanging on his hips.

"Sir?"

He grab the 3 pipe bombs and ran like hell towards the building, unsure if it will explode as soon as the pin has been taken off, he just ran. Several bullets came passing through him but he continued to run, some of their men tried to stop him but they just fall back. Toby starts to turn the pipe bombs in the air as he get near to the entrance of the building, he threw it hard as it explodes in the air, and the only casualty in that explosion is him.

'I failed you, Toby' His last thoughts as the virus takes over his body, looking forward he never got close to the building, and the casualty is his men who tried to save him. All of them starts to be devoured by the biters or the virus itself, they all start to turn and rushed the building, all bullets were futile to them, even bullets to the brain was not enough to put them down. Suddenly the whole building starts to crumble down as they got overrun, Toby's dead soldiers starts to fall down 1 by 1 as a person behind them starts to kill them.

The turned man turned around as more of them starts to die, Zachary approaches from behind and kills him, not knowing of his identity. Toby falls down on the ground and as the last possible thing his body can do, his eyes just got teary.

"Right, gather all of the men like him from Norfolk, we'll bury them at the cemetery"

"I'm sorry I was too late"

Zachary moved his palm across Toby's face and closing his eye lids, the soldiers came in trucks and put the body on it, and Bruce comes and sees Toby on the truck.

"Toby?"

"Toby?"

"This kid, his name is... was Toby, what happened to him?"

"I shot him"

Bruce checks the whole boy's body, but he finds no bite.

"No bites"

"Yeah, look at his mouth"

"Saliva?"

"Yeah... who was he?"

"I have no idea, but he did not deserve to go out like this"

"We all don't"

"That building is crumbling, what should we do?"

"No idea.. just don't go near it"

The sun rises from the east which is on their left, the shootout has gone longer but it all was the same. The groups running around trying to look like a bigger force and at the same time a horde of biter attracted to those loud noises.
